  1. I'm a narcissistic sociopath with substance abuse issues. Pretty sure I qualify as an athlete.
  2. I understood your point loud and clear. The fast cars, women and other risks associated with our trade are impossible to hide from...
  3. Shouting "This one's for Koilikov" helps too
  4. Correct, but you've entirely missed the point. It's proper cool.
  5. His was a blank firing thing purpose built for throwlines. Think he's gone back to using ladders.
  6. Good point Steve. As long as your equipment is running within the manufacturers intended parameters you should be fine...
  7. Good point. If you're that worried about replacing worn kit, don't bother with LOLER...
  8. I'd say the more you perform a task, the more experienced you get, and the less likely you are to make a silly mistake.
  9. What second hand chipper? I'm after 3 years old, with 400 hours, and I've got £2k to spend.
  10. You answered your own question there.
  11. The further away the anchoring tree is to the rigging tree can increase the force applied to the rigging point. Something to be aware of.
  12. Looked a little too good to be true. Can you provide details? (Pm if you'd prefer)
  13. Can you provide links to this? Celox (and equivalent) is designed for situations where other means of stemming blood flow are ineffective. It's not the first this you grab at the sight of blood. In a worst case scenario I'd certainly rather have it in my tool kit than not.
  14. If I had to go back to climbing like that I would despair. Mind you if I had to go back to long ascents ddrt I'd despair also.
  15. Yeah, if someone shot me with that I'd laugh...
  16. "Coming again to save the mother fluffing day yeah..."
  17. 70cc minimum for 25" bar. Trying to run 25" full comp chain on 60cc would be painful. Look out for a s/h 372xp on eBay. HarryTheCat does some decent refurbs. Failing that get a new 365xp and grind out the transfer ports.
  18. Failing that someone posted a link a while ago to a fan assisted incinerator that produced basically no smoke.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
