  1. Hi there, yes just refer to industry documents and keep them electronically on file, don't append massive documents to your policies. If you need any help PM me your email address and I'll email you some examples tomorrow when I'm back in the office. Phil.
  2. Agreed, nothing to worry me unduly there, be careful not to 'mark your card' arguing the toss around clients.
  3. PM sent.
  4. There should be links on the planning portal to external mapping sites. Then just plot the tree or trees position. If there are no links try the land registry. It'll cost you about 20.00 for the map. Failing that, and it should be acceptable for TPO works, screen shot a street map or google earth shot and plot the tree on there.
  5. Are there any members close by as I need to put forward some contractors for a small removal job. 1 day 3 men.
  6. Very very true, one of the first questions I ask site managers when inspecting trees.
  7. Speak to Jas P Wilson in Dalbeattie. I'd be looking at Keto heads.
  8. They are fantastic trucks and IMO the best compromise when buying a pickup. Tall 1st gear can be an arse for towing mind you.
  9. Grrrrrrrrr sounds to me like their lifestyle is on tick. I'd refuse to finish until the invoice is agreed and a cheque in your hand. I did an emergency job for a caravan site over two months ago and am still awaiting payment.
  10. Blimey that was a close one!
  11. 5.5k!!! That surely can't be right?
  12. Heard this on Radio 4 earlier, sad news indeed
  13. It got past the planners because most are useless and couldn't care less, I am getting very dis-enchanted with this industry at the moment. Surveys should be the first port of call but are often the last. An organic farm near us is having a new visitor centre built and have mullered all the trees.
  14. What a great thread, will get some pics up myself in due course
  15. Aye, they work well on Bergen straps, done the same myself on more than one occasion.
  16. Told you compaction was an issue ;-)
  17. Spot on IMO.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370521745552&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1616wt_922 This looks good, ex mod I bet.
  19. It also appears to be progressing left to right from the dead oak through to your tree...
  20. I think you could be wrong on compaction, it will have been an issue at some point, looks like the lawn has been mown to within an inch of it's life in the past hence the high moss levels and well manicured garden.
  21. Perhaps I need to move to Scotland then! Does it involve purchasing a skirt?
  22. Compaction, mechanical damage, looks to have been heavily reduced in the past, either because of the decline or has increased the decline. Fungal pathogens at play as well...
  23. I've just been looking at these on eBay, there's a pile of ex-MOD ones just been released.
