  1. You probablyno this by now but you can choose to save the files as pages, .doc or pDF. All our stuff goes out as PDF.
  2. Got a 2.4 the new one is 2.2, top speed has now had the limiter removed. Power and Torque is the same as the out going 2.4. The capacity drop is to meet Euro regulations. The 2.2 also has a DPF which I am not sure about. More info at Defender2.co.uk
  3. Are you flying with it? Good luck with that!

    Wood Chip

It needs to be below 50mm, no oversize, no contaminants and no greenery. Chip can be screened but you'll get sub-7.00 per ton prices for it. Just leave a layer of chip on the deck at all times and push up on that. Access for lorries is more important and the ability to load them. You should all be getting at least 10.00 a ton these days bare minimum. The big players are desperate for wood chip so it is worth negotiating. 85.00 a ton is pure rubbish for arb chip mate, that is a rough retail price for chipped dry G30 wood chip delivered in. Arb chip will never reach those prices as it can only be burnt by the large generators due to the variable quality. We advise and procure wood chip for a variety of schemes but it is becoming very cut throat.
  5. We have a 9500lbs Goodwinch fitted on a bakrack that can be mounted on any towball. Works really well have pulled over trees, dragged timber, recovered the chipper, and pulled the land rover out. A good winch is worth it's weight in gold IMO.
  6. Hi mate, we work in the Wrexham, Llangollen, Bala, Bangor, radius. No major projects at the moment but PM me your details and I'll keep them to hand as my second climber is leaving in the new year to work as a teacher in Manchester.
  7. Told you so
  8. Dunno what happened there in the end mate. That SHEQ guy was a price
  9. Heh Rik, I worked with you on that DR job at Stockport a few months back ;-) Try Matt O'Brien @ Highland Forestry. Not sure if he is looking but you are just the sought of chap he finds hard to find.
  10. Great stuff, will prepare to read it with interest.
  11. A forestry mulcher working with an excavator to windrow the material.
  12. People only complain about the purchase price of a Defender until they have it. Then you just worry about getting on with the job!
  13. Skytag have taken the bull by the horns and are getting some great PR over this. it's all over the land rover boards...
  14. When is it mate and how do I go about coming along?
  15. Great stuff!
  16. Thanks Gerrit that is great :-)
  17. Our 110 with a tw125 on the back is a real arse. Have a tow ball on the front bumper now for sticking it away in the shed which sure helps.
  18. Sad times, there looked to be a very respectable t/r ratio on that stump cut. Thanks for posting Nod.
  19. Spot on, most big tenders will have the weightings written into the PQQ and that will dictate your approach. If its 90% price then there is no point spending days on the tender. If it's 40% or less which is common with The Forestry Commission for example then you'd spend more time on method statements etc. What fun
  20. Heh guys, got a TW125 in the end.
  21. Homegrown Timber lost a guy on the railway some years ago I believe? Foot into chipper.
  22. Whereabouts in Wales are you based mate? We are in llangollen.
  23. 200.00 per man per day. 150.00 per day for a 6" towed chipper
