  1. As Stephen said, give the office a call on 01479 873001. We have Birch coming off a job in Cromdale shortly.
  2. With often no improvement in accuracy!
  3. Stobbarts Biomass Pentland Biomass John Vickery Riding Ltd Justin Kingwell and many others.
  4. Pocket GIS is naff, unfortunately you are limited to windows mobile as an operating system but some android systems are going to become available soon. Best all round is Digiterra and a sub 1k handset.
  5. Loch Morlich, Scottish Highlands
  6. These were pretty special...
  7. My head hurts lol
  8. Atheist here, well, in that I don't believe in a god as such. However high on a mountainside or up a tree on a beautiful day I do feel spiritual, maybe that is just endorphin release due to the stimuli though? The Bible was written as a way for those at the top to control those at the bottom, simple as. With all the suffering in the world how can you explain it all away?
  9. The 190 is the best Timberwolf by far. I'd be looking at Greenmech though. Is there nothing in Europe that takes your fancy?
  10. It's not so much the moisture content and the chip size and consistence Tom. I've seen what you propose being done but the chip was produced from Roundwood on a screened drum chipper and then sold direct to local users.
  11. Not bring it all the way to Jersey then lol!
  12. Check the injection pump as well. I had the same problem on a Y reg and a 51 plate.
  13. A friend of mine has asked my advise on the following tree, to my mind it is not worth bracing and should be removed before it leaf's up and fails. So, he has asked me to recommend some local contractors to remove the tree with the failed included union. Drop me a PM with your numbers and I will pass the first three on. No idea where in Cornwall the job is I'm afraid. Ta!
  14. :thumbup1:
  15. I have been and mentioned that in one of my first posts.
  16. Will keep an eye out as we are local.
  17. I had an ABC shrouded and worked over it live. Just like you the orange shroud is still in place. Overhead electric lines kill arborists, doens't matter what they are. Stay away and stay alive. Year ago before I knew any better I climbed within 4mtrs of a three phase 11kv line and dropped a piece of dead wood across the phases. I'm lucky to have survived and treat the invisible killer with the upmost respect these days!
  18. Mods - this issue comes up so frequently now, would it be worthwhile having a sticky post with the facts somewhere?
  19. Waz77 is correct, you have to inform the REC and should not work on limbs near or within the vicinity zone (2mtrs) without correct training and authorisation. Get phoning!
  20. Ginja, if you want to have a play on a Spiderjack, I have just got one so give me a shout via PM.
  21. Richard Court x 2 Dave. He is the only one to use.
  22. I think Tim and Tom have covered most of the bases! This is a most excellent thread.

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
