  5. Why wouldn't you be able to sharpen a saw in the arb industry as well as the timber lads!! Look at all the trees we take down with metal etc in it you dont have that problem in forestry. Also a blunt saw up a tree is just dangerous.
  6. Id defo say forestry is harder, never really been involved in forestry myself always been a climber, but my dad was a cutter for 30+ years before he set up on his own doing arb. forestry is all about speed to try and make some money plus they would load the timber lorries by hand in the early years one pushing and one pulling. A pic of me as a kid when id go to work with him.
  7. We have both a 150dhb and bought a 150vtr 2 years ago wouldn't be without a tracked chipper now, probably use the tracked chipper 80% of the time, it makes the job alot quicker and easier by reducing drags etc, also really handy for pulling trees over. cant think of a single negative of having one only its another machine to maintain.
  8. Cant says thats rushed hes just cracking on with the job, nice video mate.
  9. Plus you got a nice new shiny toy to play with I really dont see any downside to it. Your on a winner.

  12. Nice Job Ian, you seem to be doing alot of big clearance jobs lately.
  13. Trees and unfortunately alot of garden hedge cutting which we find pays very well plus its repeat customer year on year all hedges are prised work just find it boring compared to the trees.
  14. What a tool, bet your like a little boy at Christmas.
  15. Im with Tim on this we have a case 4x4 85hp tractor with front loader and a 6ton winch on the back, got a grain trailer for chipping in to, its such a versatile bit of kit and payed for its self in no time couldn't be without it now.
  16. We've used a port a wrap before attached to the tow bar tighten up ready to zip line then when the branch comes down slacken it off on the port wrap so it hits the ground first and not your vehicle.
