  1. I really like these, Solidur Waterproof Jacket WWW.CHRISFORESTRY.CO.UK Lightweight waterproof Jacket PU on polyamide 2 Chest pockets with flaps Extended back Underarm ventilation Large... Cheap and seem to get a few years out of a pair. My jacket needs replacing but is 3 years old now. There’s a matching pair of trousers to go with the jacket. Chris is also a really good guy to deal with.
  2. Get your teeth from QRMS. They sell green teeth copies for a lot less
  3. I have the same with my hilux. The rear bar is removable but it’s quicker just to tip the body up a little.
  4. Try Chris forestry. He sells a lot of solidur stuff which isn’t expensive
  5. I have a few people who buy rings off me. If I’ve got 15 minutes at the end of the day I’ll ring up enough to fill somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 way in a similar back to yours and get £80 for it.
  6. Anyone who runs an auger on their worky quad or similar, how do they perform and any brands you would recommend?
  7. I think the price has been fairly stagnant on them for the last few years. £3k ish is around average selling price with a really good one fetching £5-6k. Unless your planning on storing it for quite a few years I’d just use it.
  8. When I spoke to the bloke who makes them about the power loss with belts vs hydraulic’s he said it’s normally around 10-15% less. Then said it’s rare that the belts are adjusted correctly so probably less than that. From looking at the machine and it’s price point it’s aimed as a competitor to the SG40.
  9. See above
  10. It’s got a launch price of £23.5 then rises to £25k mid summer. Had a look at it at the Arb show and spoke to the makers. Really liked the fact that all the weight has been kept as low as possible. My B22 has less power than my previous predator but I’ve never found it to be a problem so I hope this would be the same. Also like the fact that unlike my previous predator with the exception of maintenance I’ve had to do nothing to the machine to keep it running.
  11. No problem. I’ve bought a few bits from them and they’ve always been really helpful.

    Prices

I’m in the south east and at £350 a day I think you’d struggle to fill your week. A good climber is achieving £250 a day. To me if you want to get more than that a day you’d be better off getting a truck and a chipper and doing your own jobs and make the extra on the jobs.

    Ripsaw???

When I bought a new 660 from a guy on here who’s in the Far East the saw was around £7-800 and ended up paying a customs bill of around £100. It was all very easy, bill came from Fed ex. Just paid over the phone. Have a look on YouTube. There’s a few tree guys in the states running ripsaw saws and all speak very highly of them.
  14. I’ve got a 6ft and a 10ft pair which cover pretty much everything I do. With the 3 adjustable legs you get nearly another 2ft of height if needed so the 6’s become 8’s and the 10’s can be 12’s if needed.
  15. I use this company. Seem to be the people who supply most of the bits for spectrum
  16. Used Cast 85 cm Standard Bucket WWW.STAGMACHINERY.CO.UK Used Cast 85 cm Standard Bucket- This bucket has been hand painted on the inside.
  17. There’s a long post on this in the large equipment forum. I bought a Worky quad last year mainly becuase I got it very cheap. Haven’t used it as much as I was expecting to but when it does come out it makes the day a lot easier.
  18. I’ve never had this problem. Each time run out of Aspen I go to my local dealer and pick up 3-4 5l cans. Then when needed I decant them into my Stihl combi can and have always got to the 5l mark on the combi can. Depending on what work we are on those cans can sit in the shed for a few months. Have never the filled my combi can with a 5l and it’s come up short.
  19. I just paid £17k + vat for an ST6P HD. No idea what the 8” costs. There have been some really cheap 2nd hand machines coming up second hand with less than 100 hours recently. Worth looking on FB marketplace before you buy new.
  20. Calls for quotes has pretty much dried up for me, a busy week is looking at one job. Probably have enough in the diary to keep us going until mid May. Hopefully some more will come in before then. Instead of working late and cramming as much work into the week as possible we’re just finishing early and enjoying the extra time off. I’ve recently become a dad so the extra time at home is appreciated by my wife and it nice to be around with the little one. Hopefully the spring weather gets people outside and the phone ringing.
  21. Isn’t predators stuff all rebranded Czech made Laski machines?
  22. Work enquiries for me have virtually dried up. Have gone from looking at 6-8 jobs a week to 1 maybe 2. Even the large estates I do work for where normally money isn’t a problem have all gone very quiet and seem to be saving money where possible. Had two week long jobs accepted this week which keeps me happier. Means we’re still 4-5 weeks behind. Have noticed that normally where I win 3 in 4 of the work I quote that’s gone down to maybe 1-4. There’s an awful lot of people round me that are quoting work stupidly low just to win the jobs and bring in a few quid. Ultimately all that means is people are running around doing 3-4 jobs in a day badly to get a half decent wage and then bringing down the price of what is deemed the average day rate.
  23. If your anywhere near Heathfield in Sussex there’s a guy selling a GRCS which looks pretty much new for £2k.
  24. I’m a big fan of the Rock exotica transporter.
  25. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!
