Looking into getting a bigger grinder to run along side or replace my FSI B22. Was wondering if anyone has anything good or bad to say about the SG40 and particularly the B28? cheers all

Only time i notice the machine has less power is if your grinding fairly deep and end up with a lot of grinding around the wheel if slows the wheel. Just means you stop for 30 seconds and move the grindings and carry on. Would highly recommend the FSI.

I had a predator 450 and now have an FSI B22. The difference is night and day, and your body will thank you for it.

I’ve currently got the new dcs 2500t which I really like and since buying it my 2511t hasn’t come out of the locker. Does anyone know if the are planning on doing a larger top handle comparable to the husky 540i xp?

I switched over to aspen a couple of months ago. I noticed this year that after a day on the saw I had a horrible head ache and would cough for a couple of hours after work. Yes it’s about 3 times the price but my headache and cough have gone. I’ve also gone over to using the Echo battery top handle which I do as much as possible with and it’s amazed me how little fuel I actually use during the day. I’m sure if your using bigger saws all day you’ll notice the financial differences but for me it hasn’t really been noticeable.

I’m sure Covid isn’t helping, seems to be causing delays with a lot of things. When I had all my kit stolen (2019) on a Friday night/Saturday morning phoned Aviva on the Monday, paperwork work was emailed to me that day. I filled in all the forms with receipts, serial no. etc... and emailed back on Wednesday, assessor phoned on Friday and we agreed a figure, received the cheque middle of the following week. Less than two weeks start to finish.

I have a pair of the Pfanner arborist trousers for a while. Really comfy, they fit well, and aren’t too hot or heavy . Stitching has come out of pockets, material rips fairly easily so if your heavy on them I don’t think they’ll last a long time. Also have a pair a bear valley trousers. Got them because he was doing 30% off so got them for £160. Really happy with those, again fit well, comfy and don’t get hot in them. Haven’t had them long enough to comment on how hardy they are. And the lack of pockets bothers some people.

If got a new to me van coming in the next few weeks and want to get an arb tipping body built for it. Can anyone recommend someone in or around Sussex. I’m near Haywards Heath. Also after ideas for a tool locker? I do a lot of fencing as well as well so would be good to keep the bed length. I had thought about putting one down one side or one at the end on legs so you can slide stuff underneath. Any input welcome? cheers all

I’ve had a 501 since April last year. Very happy with it. Like Rob has said above, the 16” bar was seemed to long on the saw. No problems running it and it’s probably all in my head but I fitted a 15” bar from Rob and much happier with it on a 15. Equally the 620 I had was a very good saw, to me it was comparable to a 361. Lots of power, had mine on an 18. Only sold it because I managed to get a new 361. For day to day work I would grab the 501 over the 620. Would only take the 620 if had a lot of timber to ring.

I found a import company that had a few new ones for sale. Worked out about £30k shipped to the UK. Like you I was concerned about parts. I’ve chickened out and bought another transit. Any pile of damp leaves or grass with dew becomes a mountain to climb in a transit.

I’ve recently just got an FSI B22, would highly recommend that for a pedestrian grinder.

Has anyone had, used, or even have any info on these. Didn’t know if it would be a good option for a work truck.

Outside to in its softwood cladding, baton, tyvex, Osb, the a 6”x2” framing and stud work with celotex, plaster board and plaster. They build the whole thing on site from scratch.

It’s 7.5m wide by 22m long. Largest size the can come under mobile home planning if you need to make life easier with the planners. We’ve got two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The one we went to look at before agreeing to the build had 4 bedrooms, 1 very large double and three single and they were still a pretty good size.

We had this built this year. Two blokes built it from scratch in 12 weeks. Cost just over £100k, but that full finished with central heating, two bathrooms, kitchen etc.... ready to move into.

I went through this a few years ago. Started out with a pickup, but couldn’t get enough stuff in the back so I bought a tipping trailer with caged sides. Could carry loads but couldn’t always get it down narrow drives and made the pickup/trailer combo very long so also couldn’t park in some drivesEnded up selling both and buying a mk6 transit tipper with a chip box on the back. A little wider than the pickup and can’t go off road but for 95% of my work that’s fine. Have had it 5 years now and wouldn’t be without it. You’ll never have the one perfect vehicle for everything, just need to work out what work your doing and get the one that works the best for that.

Another vote for FSI. Haven’t used the predator 460. I’ve just bought an FSI B22, sold my predator 450 and upgraded. Very happy with it as a machine and I like alot of the design features on it.
