  1. Digger size is down to access, small digger of course lacks lift capacity but will all ways lift more than any lad can or even two. It is down to operator on machine that makes it all work, if they have never moved brash it's interesting watch them make a mess.

Didn't know such a thing was available, been trying to think of away of slowing rotator when I fit grab to digger. Which is on a 6 way diverter and didn't want to slow grab down with restricting main supply.
  3. Why I asked is I have had fun welding steel cut from old heating oil tanks as it gets in to it.
  4. What did you cut patch out of new or old steel.

  6. Christ when we're you born. 😂
  7. Surely tongs will get bent at some point when tree lands.
  8. Thatch not cheap. Could you not use bamboo screen stuff cut short and put on in layers. Or just Cedar shingle it.
  9. Update, got it back together put a set of jump leads on it turned it over with plug leads off to get a bit of oil up and about, put some fuel in it and replaced plug leads pulled choke out turned key after a couple of turns away it went. Not bad considering that engine has sat for just over 5 years and local dealer said parts were obsolete, but just on the off chance looking on ebay found an oil pump and got a timing belt from bearings place. So rather then a pile of scrap I got an engine.
  10. Years in the trade, but you can still get it a little wrong once in a while.
  11. Just seen a reporter on TV standing out in it, he must be off his head.
  12. Yes from breather on rocker cover, bought it second hand a year or two ago and is 8 years old in total. So I have decided to put new engine on it as got no idea of history, will probably pull head off and look at condition of it. Got a shock when I message Unipower and they said could not get Honda engine till April.
  13. Thanks for that, getting one through local dealer and they rate Lifan a good engine. If something goes wrong, peace of mind they are local and not moles away.
  14. That must be some machine.
  15. Worked with lads that have done all the collage and tickets, showed most of them how to do things easier and better. Even when I did a ticket years ago told the instructor how to do one part easier.
  16. My brother wears Corfra work boots, they are a soft boot out of the box, and he finds them last well on civil engineering work. I have a pair of LOWA boots I wear for going out and they must be 15 years plus old, lovely pair of boots. LOWA make a lot of boots for different uses but mot forestry.
  17. Get rid of it and replant will something else to fill gap. I had a customer with a row of Thuja that did the same, topped them and with in 2 months I was back there to fell them.
  18. Talking to a lad that works for a large civil engineering company, they have the same problem with boots. He bought same boots for years and then they were crap. Must be a chemical that has been band they were using to stabilise sole and have switched to something else that's not any good.
  19. Can never work out when we can't buy parts or machine direct from them they haven't got a dealer near to them in Stowmarket.
  20. I liked how they gave battery saw sound effects of a petrol one. Didn't pond go from £9000 to £7000 and then cost £10,000.
  21. Thanks, got crank mark, but cam pulleys just have hole you put pins in but can't find holes on crankcase. Have looked it up since post and found a bit more out, number on pulley has to be at top and holes horizontal, will use a couple of drill bits to see if the lock in some way. Valve are non interference
  22. All hire company I deal with will do day hire. Have you rang them or just going on Internet.
  23. Got a timing belt gone on a Kohler triad engine anyone know how you set cams on this engine.
  24. Got a bit of time to day to iook at it again,so I found. It would run at full revs assembled back together, popped rocker cover off and tappets were out of setting reset them. Tried it again no luck, so while it was running popped breather pipe from rocker cover to airbox off and smoke like a coal fire, and engine ran better and ran flat out with no spluttering. So I am thinking rings gone.
  25. Which company did you get it off,
