  1. I'm rich, I'm rich. Holiday to the Caribbean booked. Who knew you could make more money just sitting in front of the computer?! Think I'll avoid the crap weather tomorrow and lounge in bed. ;-)
  2. I like your postage charges. Mr Jones wants £32.70 to post to me in Elgin!
  3. 14mm Teufelberger from Clark Forest.
  4. Thanks mate.. Appreciate the feedback. Ordered the stuff.
  5. Used my Husky T536 last 3 days, two Syc dismantles and then Lime deadwooding today. Rigging down the crowns becomes easier when you can talk to the groundie below without the saw burbling away. Even while cutting you can hear any shouts much easier. Jump to petrol topper as you go down to the thicker stems 10" plus as mentioned. Using three 3.0 AH batteries, but Husky now has 4.2's. One battery has proved a bit crappy but the other two go for quite some time.
  6. Bump. Is the Sugru still holding fast OMT?
  7. Bump! Any more peeps using the Sena SMH10 kits? Especially on Protos. Would be nice to get a couple more comments before we go toy shopping. :-)
  8. Waste of money. Avoid, avoid. Stick with the free one. Use your local paper instead.
  9. One of our jobs in Inverness last week was for Ground Control. We don't get a lot of treework from them, maybe one job every month or so, and you have to be prepared for a wait to get paid. Hadn't heard they had got council work.
  10. So far, so good. I haven't noticed any issues. Not been sub zero but commonly 3 or 4 deg. Husky T536.
  11. Blimey, it's not an Arctic wasteland up here you know! There are tree firms up around Inverness. And there are houses with trees! Google and Yell are your friend. Plus there are various estates you could tout yourself around. 4x4 helps if you're working on these. Had two jobs in Inversneckie this week as it happens, and I'm based 30 miles away.
  12. Grab my MS150 for bashing that horrible stuff. Dead light and quick enough through it. Easy to wield in amongst the tangles.
  13. My 576xp is now 3 years old and hasn't missed a beat. Runs 18" like stink and pulls a 26" and 28" bar through anything, so a 20 will be no problem to it. Vibes are nice and low. Can't speak for the Stihls though. Except to say they aren't the right colour ;-)
  14. I guess your heated handles will be on then, Jon 😄. Stay warm matey.
  15. Gusting over 40 up here today Jon. Off to look at more wind throw.
  16. This wind just isn't letting up, Jon. Still blowing constantly over 40mph and gusting higher. Noisy night. I've had to slip several normal jobs to the right and its a right pain in the butt. Never seen so many trees up here uprooted.
  17. Hi Jon, running a 28" on my 576, so holding off on a 661. 36" bar on the 880 is nice for quick ringing up of the bigger stuff with the 48" as back up. I liked the transit analogy earlier. Why make a wee saw scream when a bigger beast can do the job with ease.
  18. Which is why he needs either a 395/661 AND an 880. Me "I need a big saw" Wife "Which one are you buying?" Me "Welllllllll, I checked with the guys on Arbtalk and they recommended I need two saws. That way I don't get a sore back, have less risk of getting HAVS, use expensive fuel more efficiently and therefore be able to buy you more chocolate and clothes" Wife "Those guys on Arbtalk are really worth listening to I guess" In my dreams........ ;-)
  19. Up here on the coast the wind is pretty fierce, but it's rain and not Stevie's snow. More of the same in the morning. Think I might be doing maintenance instead of climbing. And the possible fell is a leaner that needs to come sideways against the wind direction. Will walk away from that one too.
  20. On second pair of Haix Protectors. First pair lasted 2 years but I looked after them with dubbin etc. Second pair about a year now and going strong. Dry, warm feet.
  21. 540xpg would be nice. Amazed that someone can tell the difference in weight with the heated handles. Happy hands today. :-)
  22. Peeing rain, cold winds, toasty handles, happy bunny.
  23. Liked that video. Cheers. Got the triple ring setup for crutch rigging and like them a lot. Couldn't find those particular ones in the uk, so imported from US. Not cheap but worth having.
