  1. I would think a level 4 would be better suited if you was looking towards being a tree officer, sorry I can’t recommend any courses as I haven’t been on anything higher than a level 3 so far
  2. £90.... I have a climbing kit and a lowering kit inspected and it was £200! 2x climbing 1x rigging ropes, harness, ascender, strop and the usual array or Prussiks, karabiners and other shines things. I'm happy with the service I get, I'm just interested in what the £90 lower covers
  3. I'll give the nfu a bell tomorrow I've tried a few landrover/ modified 4x4 specialists and Adrian flux offered me £1,151.00... Hoping to find better. If I wasn't insuring it for commercial use, then I'd only be looking for £400 for the year
  4. Hi guys, It's for the insurance renewal for my discovery 2 commercial, I'm looking for a company that'll cover it for both commercial use and for mods. I've tried a few places already, some will cover the mods, or the commercial use but only one will do both! And they're looking for £1,150.00 for the pleasure, that's with 6years ncd on this policy. So who can you recommend to try? Cheers, Steve
  5. Hi stump squatter, Being nosey here, what prices did you get for the Ali planking? Considering using planking for my latest diy build
  6. Personally having run my 576 on a 24" bar, I think it would cut wood, just don't go leaning into the cut. I partially base my opinion on my mate who tried a 30" bar& chain on his ms460, as these saws are pretty close on spec; let's say, cutting with the full length of bar was.... Well wasn't great. For the one of job, just be patient
  7. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=301715492812&globalID=EBAY-GB Why work days ever again? If these are as bright as stated, the sun will be a 10w bulb in comparison
  8. T Here's the old truck, Ali sheet 3mm riveted to 3mmX40mmX40mm steel box, with 20mmX20mm box between each frame at each end. cost maybe £280 if my memory serves me right. And some ply as a bulkhead that was tied up when chipping, lowered when not.
  9. I had a thought today whilst at work, is there a thread on here for all the guys who can't justify having a brand spanking arb truck with a massively expensive chip body? A thread for showing each other the home made, D.I.Y bodies designed and built onto pre owned vehicles. The idea came about when considering how I was going to design and build a more permanent body on my transit. Perhaps we could post pictures of the build to the end product, to give each other ideas and inspiration for home made arb bodies. Just a idea, let's see how it goes. Hers what I'm currently running now Steve
  10. Shooting, drinking too much cider, playing aunt Sally down the pub, pike fishing and a bit of wood turning; note to self, need to find 8th day of the week
  11. I stuck bf MUDs on mine, didn't get stuck too often, just don't expect your client to to be best pleased when crossing their lawn in the wet, I was like a rooster tail!
  12. I'll third that! Ordered some parts late yesterday afternoon, received them first thing this morning, great service
  13. Hi rob, any sign of sugihara bars for the husky 540's? Cheers, Steve

  16. Just my weighrach 97k under lever springer air rifle in .22, aiming towards a rimFire later this year once I'm feeling competent in handling and shooting as I've only take it up the beginning of the year Been doing some practising, 10pence coins at 50yards with my rifle zeroed in at 35yards, all good fun
  17. I stuck bf Goodrich mud terrain on mine, made a huge difference, it did spin well unladen but I still could get about ok, loaded it would get about off road, fields, woods etc as long as I wasn't silly, no worse than a normal pickup with road tyres I guess.
  18. Evening all, Having chased both the Thames valley and met police all day, it has been established that my cabstar has been recovered from the Dagenham area of London. However the condition of the vehicle isn't clear and the wood chipper isn't with the truck. I would like to thank everyone for their effort in helping to get my truck and chipper back, I really appreciate it! Regards, Steve parry

  21. I haven't had a update from the police since they came around Tuesday afternoon, time to let rip!
  22. No keys, they must have hot wired it, it was locked too as I checked on my way out in the morning. Fast settlement, 2/3 weeks or so for the truck....
  23. Hi guys, i have posted in the stolen forum, but I'd thought I'd post here too as maybe more people may see this topic. I had my Nissan cabstar and jenson chipper stolen of my driveway around 2 pm from banbury, north Oxfordshire. 5 mins prior a family member answered the door to 2 "Irish speaking" men who wondered if the boss was home as they was interested in buying some wood. These are the main suspects at the moment. The chipper is a 2004 jenson 530 with approx 1200 hour from memory, the truck is a w reg Nissan cabstar with 124,000 odd on the clock. Thanks for your time, Steve
