  2. Ouch >I don't mind paying a fair price for burrs nut £150 is a lot How are you ever supposed to make it pay.You would need to turn that into something like £1000 of stock to recuperate that outlay
  3. Simple stool,top made of Sycamore and legs made from Hazel Would look better with a dark red leg Anybody with any sticks 2 to 3 ins dia and a better coloured bark get in touch

  6. What type of burrs do you have i am always on the lookout
  7. messed about for 3 weeks making it but it was my first and i haven't steam bent anything in 40 years Hopefully next one should take half thjat time Interestingly most books etc say that you can't steam bend kiln dried timber..You can and most articles say to leave wood in steamer for 1 hour per inch of thickness.double that and add your age
  8. spotted this on ebay,if it sell for that i'm converting my laburnum tuesday 2 x LABURNUM PLANKS 'MID WANE' 12" X 28" and 12" X 39" | eBay

  11. Didn't use fox joints as the tenons were a great fit First rocker i have made Maybe an idea to use fox joints on the next chair
  12. PS All the timber came from Big J.All Elm appart from ash arms
  13. At Last the rocker is done Lots of steam bending and lots of time later

  17. Afraid I cheated and used the arboetech for the seat shaping And as for the glue I have just been and purchased some rabbit skin glue
  18. Latest project Rocking chair all made in Elm (supplied by Big J ) most of the chair has been ok .Spindles for the back are tapered and steam bent to shape,but the arms are proving to be a real pain 3 two ins by 1/2 ins slices of Elm steam bent and glued together.Struggling to find a glue that can cope

    Bison boots.Neoprene and warm and stronger than Muck boots Available on Ebay
  23. I visit quite a few woodyards and it is almost impossible to but british wood,even the ash comes from France.What is happening to our timber I pride myself on only using british timber and hope it is a good selling point but it ain't easy to find
