  1. It's the selling of the stuff I want to promote and CW can certainly help!
  2. I doubt that. Such a large operation wouldn't buy in tonnes of softwood if they weren't going to promote it. Hardwood prices are crazy expensive and running low.
  3. Our Burley stoves love the stuff!
  4. That's going to be a great point of reference for sales when customers query softwood qualities.
  5. Certainly woods web site confirming softwood is actually a good burning wood. Happy days. https://www.certainlywood.co.uk/blog/hardwood-versus-softwood-firewood/
  6. Feel a bit jealous.
  7. Do the logs dry well in there?
  8. Cut them off. No problem at all.
  9. I know exactly what you mean. It’s almost a bit of fun and if you can make a few quid then great. I’d stick to high prices and go with the quality home produced theme. Bet it makes a lovely charcoal for meat smokers.
  10. Seems like a lot of work for very little return Beau. Splitting the wood, loading the retort, emptying, bagging, delivering etc all for a pound or so profit.
  11. Cutting it nice and small will make it even quicker
  12. Easily. Split now and stored away properly, with decent air flow, it'll be lovely and ready to burn by Christmas, if not before.
  13. Spot on.
  14. Yup, probably 5 minutes would do it
  15. How on earth can 20 % be far too high? ANY log at 20 - 25% will burn just fine. I think the problem is that so many new store owners are hopeless at lighting a fire. 2 bits of kindling and a big log at 20% ain’t gonna work, we know that but they don’t. Stove retailers cover the stove manufacturers and their own backsides by pumping out ridiculous mc standards and negative softwood feedback. Every year I hear the same, “ my installer said it had to be only hardwood and kiln dried” ?
  16. "It's all Arbtalk certified firewood sir"
  17. That's what I thought it meant. Lovely clouds....
  18. In the middle of winter, less than 20% is damn hard. The timbers in the barn, that haven’t seen rainfall in decades read 15-18 in the colder months. Less than 25 burns absolutely fine, we all know that but hey let’s not get into that again. I’ll certainly not be paying a penny to anyone.
  19. Hi, what’s an ad plant?
  20. Any ideas? From the pile today, no idea what it is, thinking maybe a fruit wood...

  22. Also....my gas boiler, during ALL the cold months, ONLY heats my water. An hour or so a day. The rest of the 7 months we burn dry wood Wonder how many MP's in their lovely houses have a stove, inglenook, open fire, fire pit in the garden, chiminea or whatever they are, charcoal bbq, bonfire to burn the "ruddy waste"....
  23. Yup, totally agree. I always light from top down , it's bloody obvious really, the smoke gets burnt in the kindling as the fire gets going. No chimney smoke.
  24. Walking downstairs every single day and thinking "God I love living here" Seeing my boys come back from school with stories from the day watching my firewood dry dry dryin the lovely summer sun xx
  25. Looks amazing. How many kg do you get out of each burn?
