  1. Very simple. Powers that be know people have to use their cars as public transport is woeful but are greedy with it and charge extortionate prices. Driving of any sort will soon be for the rich.
  2. Lloyds TSB seem be the worst of the lot. Barclays seem much better never had any probs with them.
  3. That would be belting when would be best for you?

  7. The garage on the back of my house has an alley running past it-leading up to winter I had loads of cars stopping to ogle my woodpile while I had the door open to aid drying and one fella ask was it ok to take some logs? Yes I said if I can come and empty your diesel tank for my Landy? Funny look and he walked off??
  8. I don't miss being in the building trade. One of my fave jobs was laying fresh drains at a school and having to clear out a backed up drain! Bloke I was working with had lost the rubber gauntlets...put me right off sweetcorn!
  9. Sure it was Al Baker who posted the pallet and stock fence way of storage. Thats what iv copies now very effective with a bit of tarp on top.

  11. I'd try getting to know folks on here first.
  12. Il try to get a pic tomorrow if their at it again. Nearly all my timber is hardwood think everything down the hill is softwood mainly willow and few pines.
  13. Cheers for the replies gents, we haven't even moved into the new place yet but it's aggravating me that this fella is just going round willy nilly with a saw. Don't really want to get into a neighbour dispute but it's not as if he's picking up a few windblown branches! I'm gonna take the dog out tomoro and see what hes done.
  14. Evening all, been upto the new house me and the wife are moving into today to do some painting. While i was there noticed the guy next door and his son going down the path onto what im sure is council land and lugging an axe, barrow and saw down and ten minutes later hear the saw going?! Half an hour later his son starts coming back up the hill with the barrow loaded with split logs. Whats the story if he gets caught? Only asking as the wife pointed out iv gotta yard and garage full of timber which some of the gents on here have let me have and dont want people thinking its me cutting them down! By the looks of the pile his son amassed id say 2 cubes worth!
  15. Anyone going for a look on Sat? Theres a tender so may go and have a look-think theres even a tractor may suit some of you lot!
  16. Hiya Johnski me and the wife have gone down this route as well-she has an Auntie in Ontario. We last visited 3 years since but don't think employment rules have changed much. Wife's a secondary teacher and Iv got my city and guilds plumbing so could possibly get in on that. Not checked out the job list lately to see what trades they want. The country is fantastic so that's probably why it's so difficult to get into! All the best and keep us informed. Pete:thumbup1:
  17. Sounds bit fishy that Rob?! U been on the Guinness?!
  18. Need to renew my membership..miss those BBQ ribs and hot dogs they do...
  19. Iv got the Stihl one can't fault it. Tested it on freshly cut oak and years old stuff-seems accurate.
  20. BCA or Manheim auctions have had a few recently may be worth registering. Nearly all ex-utilities and quite new.
  21. Defo store outside for me from now on-I've gotta 20ft by 10 ft garage I've filled thru last summer with fresh wood. Few bits have gone mouldy but still taking way too long to dry out. Probs got about 10-12 cube worth which il store outside from now on soon as I get more pallets.
  22. Andy how's your Landy doing have you got your 130 going yet?
