Hm il take your word for that Volvo but I'd think most people would go for tried and tested rather than take a punt on an unknown.

I hope the Chinese trucks are better than their cars as my mates dad bought one of the little city Rovers as a runabout. He had it from brand new and reckoned it was the worst vehicle he had ever owned including Fiats! Sold it at a loss after too many visits the garage!

Their stopping making the current Defender simply as their too labour intensive to build. Quite likely will still be available in CKD form from overseas tho.

Had out Rayburn 355 in about 2 months now and was initially shocked as well by how much wood it eats! We bank it up with coal overnight but rest of the time I can easy use 2 barrow full a day-mind you you could burn yourself on my radiators!

I've not done it but read a few threads on Landyzone from people who have done it-a lot of the ex utility 110s are HD cant see it being too much hassle with DVLA.

Salisbury HD axle on the back end is what you need and font bother with a 130 not as if they can carry tonnes more.

To one day have the cash to buy a house in France and have something along the lines of a Caterham or Westfield in the shed! A BIG v8 in the Landy..I'm still thinking about the rest!

Spent an hour last night looking at some superb Land Cruisers on Oz EBay-some good kit that's the only thing I'd swap my Landy for. Think you'd be talking a lot to import one but if you kept it for 15 years?

Looked on Myerscoughs prospectus they do trailer training at £86 per day so I'm thinking 2 days with them then sit the test and cut out these others.
