  1. I want to see the pictures. Pm them shots and I nearly promise not to share with anyone, ugh maybe the chat room. easy-lift guy
  2. Good policy:thumbup1: easy-lift guy
  3. I suspect this would not matter in court since no names were mentioned and similar case law already exist for comparison sake. easy-lift guy
  4. I suspect he was taking his orders from his employer In hindsight not the best idea considering the results. Would you have fired your employer or just walk off the job with the story provided? easy-lift guy
  5. Your story was very well documented from memory so I suspect you will never forget the accident. Since the employer took command of the situation and relegated your job to groundie support. I would have made sure both you as a sub and the employer worked out the details of the takedown before he ever started with the saw in the first place. No doubt there was a complete breakdown of communication and the fact that an ambulance was not called right after the accident occured is a mystery to me?. As for your groundie, why did he not come to your aide on the spot?. I would of contacted the ambulance myself and made sure the groundie did nothing else until emergency services arrived. As far as the employer is concerned I am not sure what legal rights you would have as a sub contractor. Did you have a contract with the employer explaining all of your legal rights and responsbilites?. I believe you will need to secure and attorney in the end to get any sort of closure on the matter. See if you can find one that will handle your case on contingent. easy-lift guy
  6. Perhaps he is just into self mutilation? easy-lift guy
  7. Luton pensioner killed by falling tree Police were called to the scene by the ambulance service A pensioner has died after being crushed by a falling tree in a wooded area in Luton, police say. Officers were called to Rotten Corner, a green space between Sundon Park Road and Marsh Farm, at 12:45 BST on Wednesday. Police said the 73-year-old man was attempting to cut the tree down when it fell on him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious. Luton Borough Council said it was investigating what happened. A spokesman said: "The council's parks are maintained regularly and action taken immediately if any issues are identified following health and safety inspections. "Initial findings suggest this incident was a tragic accident, however it would be inappropriate to comment further until the full facts have been ascertained." It seems that the Police report say he was attempting to cut down the tree, when it fell on him. Can only report on the facts as they are presented by the report given, I believe the same quote you mentioned except in full. easy-lift guy
  8. I might be able to get them here if your interested. Send me a pm. easy-lift guy
  9. Just curious was it an accident that he was cutting down a tree and the tree fell on him or was it a choice?. I suspect he made a choice and it was not a wise one at that. Some people make wise choices and live another day:thumbup1: Others make the news and either people feel sorry for what happen to them, or maybe the victim would have never been a victim in the first place if he had made a wise choice. I hope when I turn 73 I have enough wits to still understand and comprehend my limitations. easy-lift guy
  10. I think I saw the house move slightly just before inpact. easy-lift guy

  12. Depending on your ambition level you could always use a Two handled saw. Of course you would need a partner to help! easy-lift guy
  13. bigdave, thanks for calling a spade a spade. When I have caught people stealing from me, I get the same answers and I am more or less totally fed up with anyone stealing from me or anyone else. easy-lift guy
  14. Really nice egg. Try googling your question, you may be surprised how many folks have had similar issues and fixes. easy-lift guy
  15. Your profit margin after your expenses is key. You can always lower your profit margin in order to secure work once in a while, however this is a practice I would discourage on a regular basis. If you have the time to work on weekends part time to make up any funding requirements do so. Remember this can be temporary until more work becomes available. Being in business for yourself is great if your cut out for the job. Being profitable after each job and moving forward can be more challenging. easy-lift guy
  16. Pretty much agree with everyone else's opinion, except when you do make the move and your girlfriend ask about why be honest with her and agree with her opinion. I believe she has both of your best interest in mind. easy-lift guy
  17. No wonder I wear this brand. easy-lift guy

  20. Looks ready for a fresh coat of new paint. Nice job. easy-lift guy
  21. Can you say Bernie Madoff?, how about a Ponzi scheme? If one wishes to go back to a mercantile form of exchange so be it. On the other hand 1 million of something that is not actually real is still only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it:sneaky2:. Being able to access a value to something based on the number of people willing to buy into the concept is all well and good, PT Barnum had a name for these folks, Suckers and according to him one was born every minute:sneaky2:. easy-lift guy
  22. Depends. Would you be purchasing an on going concern or starting out fresh? People need a place to keep their stuff and at least here state side this type of business can be profitable but not a part time venture. Some of the more successful operations have the owners or managers living on site to be able to offer the best customer service and control of the business. This type of business is very much by the book and is full time for sure. Folks over here can and do make a good living as owner/operators however time away is very precious with 24/7-365 responsibility. easy-lift guy
  23. I would move my schedule forward to accommodate my next customer. Things happen all the time and I have had to do this on more than One occasion. Usually the customer is very happy to have the job done sooner or to have an order filled sooner. Looking unprofessional is One thing , having the flexibility and understanding of your customers is priceless. easy-lift guy
  24. If you have not had a complete physical of late make the time and have one done. Ruling out any physical issues in the first place will help you better formulate a plan to over come your anxiety spells for now. The amount of stress and strain and how one deals with it depends on having a plan or Two on the books ready to implement. You don't seem shy so let your wife know what's going on so your both working off the same sheet of music. Take care. easy-lift guy
