I suppose since the peanut farmer from Georgia once upon a time did what Mr. Trump was talking about and worse to the Iranians in 1980 that could be over looked, after all we have laws on the books restricting entry in to the US based on religion and seemingly when someone chooses to enforce those laws the name calling starts and personnel insults are soon to follow. I believe this is more or less what Mr. Trump stated, Real-estate mogul Donald Trump released a statement on Monday calling for the US government to bar all Muslims from entering the country until the terrorist "problem" is under control. "Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on," his campaign statement said. No I was not present when this statement was made, however I did hear this statement on the radio by Mr. Trump. The existing government/regime in charge of the USA is very pro Muslim and will do nothing to change or alter that position while still in power or even after. That said the shooting that took place last week in CA is a small example of future attractions to visit my country for the immediate future. Mr. Trump will continue to control the talking points and to a degree the political conversations while the remaining Presidential candidates allow the media to control the agenda and in turn their candidacy. Mr. Trump is basically an enigma and for the moment the media has either not figured out how to manage him or are buying their time until the next candidate starts to rise in the Polls, which are completely controlled by the media. The only person that can defeat Mr. Trump, is Mr. Trump. Saying what is on his mind and getting what he wants is SOP for this person and the closer the US voters of this country get to their respected Primaries the faster the remaining Candidates will either drop out or fall back and start to negotiate with Mr. Trump for future cabinet positions. The legal citizens of the USA will be making, maybe for the last time very important decisions as to which direction the country is headed in just over a year. ATM I do not know if Mr. Trump is what the USA needs for the future, however I do feel that the race for President in 2016 is Mr. Trumps to win or loose, How he chooses to achieve that goal and fill the job and all it entails remains to be seen. easy-lift guy

Sadly giving any one of the actors their own state will result in more of the same. The only exception would be with the Kurds. At least there willing to fight for their lands and will not turn and run like the others have and will continue to do. That would depend on code for the local town or city. Sometimes here in Florida entire sections of sidewalk have to be removed and replaced. Many ambulance chasers and risk management departments for the local governments are kept busy year round. It's not just a matter of looking where your going, it's a matter of public safety and insuring or minimizing the risk to peds as much as possible. easy-lift guy

Actually I have never hammered a tree, and with all due respect could and never would plant any tree that close to anything. From a professional landscaping standpoint just not proper landscape planning or execution. Amenity Tree, not withstanding. easy-lift guy

Must be a UK mind set:confused1:. I guess only a hand full of members may agree with a pro active approach from a mature state of growth with any tree much less a maple. I believe you may be the first person that I have ever heard of in my life that has no problem planting a tree that would have the potential to out grow its space:confused1: Just out of curiosity based on your own judgement on tree size, how much larger should the tree in the OP's picture be before it's to big?. From the picture it looks like the trunk maybe can grow another 2 or 3" in any direction before it reaches the sidewalk? easy-lift guy

No. Regrettably choices that are made for types of trees are usually based on emotion and not common sense. Trees that have deeper root systems with less shallow root systems ideally would be better. easy-lift guy

Be patient. The tree will make up its mind when and how it will continue to expand its root system. Considering the root system is 3 times the size of the canopy waiting for evidence of a raised sidewalk is very after the fact, and would weigh very heavily in favor of the victim who will trip and fall. Failure to use due care and properly maintain sidewalks or other public property is money in the bank for the attorneys. Not if, just a matter of when. I see these situations here in Florida daily. Biggest reason why liability premiums are so high and will remain that way. easy-lift guy

How resilient will the first person who trips and falls from a root system that has no where to go except to raise the sidewalk. The tree should have never been planted in such a small area to start. Ignoring the obvious liability by continuing to leave same tree is one more reason why attorneys love to be hired for fast money cases:thumbdown: easy-lift guy

Just common sense. A tree that size has no place to grow and when the root system raises the concrete sidewalk in front of the house and someone trips over it and hurts them self in the process no one to hold responsible except the property owner. At least that is how the law would handle the situation here. easy-lift guy

That tree and its present location has danger and liability written all over it. Honestly just remove the tree and start new with the saplings growing in the back ground, I am sure they will aperciate the competition being out of the way. easy-lift guy

If the data is from the CPSC I believe the stats are based on professional and WEW, non professional use. I have had coned off areas moved for cars to park after I have returned from lunch. I try and find out who the owner is first and if no one claims the car the tow truck is called and the owner and the tow truck can settle the matter.
