  1. Steve, as a former marathoner and sponsored athlete by Asics I can tell you that being in shape and maintaing what your willing to achieve are two admiral goals to shoot for. I would have gone for a complete physical before I started like you have, although having a heart monitor to keep track of your cardio fitness level is a step in the right direction. If your attempting to loose weight and get into better cardio shape you will need to build your endurance lever to a much higher level than at present. Biking or swimming and biking in combination can steadily increase your endurance level which will make the workouts your presently attempting child's play in a matter of a few month. The key is consistently do your workouts daily and if you cannot do workouts for any number of good reasons at least stretch or do calisthenics I between a warm up and cool down. Since the last time you seem me in person I have dropped 35 lbs and at least now I don't resemble the stay puff marshmallow man any more while demonstrating the ELH! You keep up the good work and ask at any time for my opinion regarding workouts and the like. easy-lift guy
  2. If that is still the case I can say that is a really stupid and petty way of treating a charity. I will wait and see if the rule is still in force. I don't really care if I won anything since I was planning on donating back anything I won anyway. easy-lift guy
  3. Per your suggestion I visited the web-site for the children's trust and noticed that one could purchase tickets by PayPal. Is it possible for myself to purchase tickets by PayPal or am I still not allowed for what ever reason? Thanks easy-lift guy
  4. Jon that would be in the past tense I trust?. Perhaps one of hundreds that need to be replaced. Along with many other infrastructure projects that have been ignored for way to many years. Sooner or later it is possible that the majority of the citizens of the U.K. May realize that the can being kicked down the road for so many years is no longer available. Same here as well, sadly:thumbdown: easy-lift guy
  5. Egg stated earlier that the original pilings date back to the 17th century. Very historic to say the least. Practical and dependable in the 21st Century, Not. Not everything is meant to last forever, bridges over 300 years old included. easy-lift guy
  6. Your point about the recent invasion of people from other lands will only put that much more strain on the social welfare system. More essential services will continue to be reduced or eliminated and the infrastructure will continue to crumble and become non existent. Fortunately most members on this site are very self aware of their resources and surroundings. For everyone else that are dependent or addicted to 21 century technology the reality check coming town the pike will be incomprehensible at first and than everyone else that is left will really be on their own maybe for the first time in their lives. Perfect storm is a coming. Just be as prepared as you can. The Calvary won't be coming in to save the day any generation soon:sneaky2: easy-lift guy
  7. Small price to pay compared to the alternative and the government refusing to protect the property both personnel and real that you pay taxes on every year for no return on investment. easy-lift guy
  8. Just read the article. The more things change the more they stay the same:thumbdown: And of course no criminal offenses were committed, yet the funding provided by the state continues to be available for those who are willing to play ball with the state while everyone else that pays taxes in your country and keeps being raked over the coals. Absolutely insane. Kevin can a suit like the one previously mentioned in the article now be reopened or be filed under a class action status like we have here in the USA. Not sure if it is possible, however may have more teeth than previous attempts. easy-lift guy
  9. As I suspected egg. On my next journey over I will need to consult the locals about any of the older looking bridges before I venture over them. Would any bridge or road be safer say post 1642?. Take care and have a Happy New Year to all. easy-lift guy
  10. Just wondering how old the bridge was at the time of this collapse?. 50 years 75 over a 100?. I guess my point which no one else has mentioned is that a deteriorating infrastructure of roads and bridges especially older bridges is probably as much to blame as all of the other reasons already mentioned. easy-lift guy
  11. Actually I do realize that the UK is a Small Island, and that land is at a premium. What bothers me is that " Greedy developers and councils wanting more properties to build and tax and they aren't too fussy about where" There does not seem to be any accountability for this behavior. Not to say that the same acts don't take place over here, they do however when caught and prosecuted the developers usually loose everything, and do time in the State or Federal pen. Some time depending on how bad their crime was they don't make it out under the normal length of their sentence. easy-lift guy
  12. As long as any government is not willing to condemn the land that is either below sea level or on a flood plane, the land owner or renter must know that their on borrowed time. I agree that investing money to continue sticking fingers into dikes is pretty much useless. The rain will fall regardless and if people buy land or rent land on a flood plane the results will remain the same. I suppose being proactive for one can be bad for all, since everyone seems to be in the same boat with the drain plug missing:sneaky2: easy-lift guy
  13. Understood, The best defense is a good offense. Flooding has been a problem for thousands of years here in this part of the world. Governments continue to allow individuals to buy swamp land or land next to streams and rivers knowing that this land is on flood plain. Sadly people that can afford to purchase land above sea-level pay more in insurances and taxes in order to subsidize everyone else that either will not buy above sea-level or are to ignorant to the fact that buying land below sea-level is really not very smart at all. easy-lift guy
  14. Based on your own previous experience with this governmental agency would it be better for the OP to just move to higher ground or would the OP be breaking existing laws by setting up sand bags or building a flood barrier to protect his land and home. easy-lift guy
  15. Seems like the government has once again been a total failure for theses reoccurring flooding problems in the UK. Can you as a property owner build a barrier or have sand bags on hot stand by for future flooding seeing as your the only person that can have at least a partial pro active approach that the government continues to ignore?. I hope you dry out soon. easy-lift guy
  16. Looks like a good read. Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year. easy-lift guy
  17. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family. easy-lift guy
  18. I did and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and Karen. easy-lift guy
  19. It has been a long good healthy year for business and myself. My chores around the house finally ended at 12:00 hours today. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas a Happy New Year. Looking forward to meeting up at the APF next year. All the best. easy-lift guy
  20. Contact the state chapter of the ISA for California to see if there are any companies hiring. easy-lift guy
  21. egg, I meant rifles and shot guns. When I stated air rifles I was really think about Jon and his continuing quest to find just the right air rifle. easy-lift guy
  22. Use only unethanol fuel, since price is no object. Available at most boat marinas. Purchase a fuel stabilizer for longer term storage. easy-lift guy
  23. Not really sure where the sign in question is located. I do know that Hunters that travel from state do transport by air rifles and shot guns as checked luggage. easy-lift guy
  24. Pretty sure that is checked luggage. easy-lift guy
  25. I hope for your sake and your fellow citizens that your not wrong now or in the future. Mean while I will remain a prepared as possible because I can. easy-lift guy
