  1. I guess it's to make it all compact when you're not using it. I can imagine it clipped up on the back of my harness whilst moving through a tree and the bungee twangs me on the ass cheek! Apparently the bungee doesn't go all the way through the footloop and the creator experimented a lot to find the optimum length. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  2. That's exactly why I bought the proper HAAS. I've got all the bits lying around but I wanted the elastic inside the rope. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  3. Need someone urgently tomorrow. Also need someone Thursday and Friday but not quite so desperate. Call Al on 07834 414271. Thanks. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  4. Since I started on SRTWP I've been using a Pantin on left foot and right handed hand ascender with foot loop. I then found that my left knee started to hurt because of the Pantin so I bought a right foot Pantin. However, I then found co-ordination issues having my left foot in the loop etc, just like writing with your wrong hand. The obvious thing to do is keep practicing so that my technique improves. Sod that, I've just ordered a HAAS knee ascender instead! Online Store Search - Honey Brothers Ltd It actually appears to be an improvement on my current set up in terms of efficiency of movements and I can see that by having both hands on my rope above the Hitch Hiker, a more upright efficient position will be encouraged. Also, I prefer the idea of not having a toothed ascender above my hitch. This link shows it all I think: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m49BBFJN5lA&feature=youtube_gdata_player]The HAAS : TreeStuff.com Product Detail - YouTube[/ame] Anyway, I have some tall tree jobs coming up so I can't wait to try it.
  5. Hi John Search for Taylor Hammell's YouTube videos or Hitch Climber videos on YouTube. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  6. I use a GoPro Hero 2. You're better off using the search button at the top. There's been a few threads in the last few months. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  7. You actually bought from Redwood in a roundabout sort of way (someone from Redwood will disagree) but anyway, that's a good thing 'cos Redwood's after sales service is excellent and their parts department is like nothing else I've seen. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  8. I strongly agree with this. We all feel relatively safe due to familiarity and assume to be in control of our situation, until the unexpected happens. It's just not possible to be too careful in this job because the consequences are too severe. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  9. Exact same here for me.
  10. He said it's just a tether to ensure that he does not drop the pulley.
  11. Just found this photo of a mod that DMc has made. Excellent. The #1 Arborist Forum, Bar, and Grill - Enjoy the buffet and libations! I guess a Pinto pulley will fit, or any pulley that can slip around the bottom of the Oxan. Got to try this.
  12. Oh no, maybe you misunderstood what I meant. I ordered on the Saturday and your website said you would be closed for a stock check on the Monday. Therefore I didn't expect to receive the goods until Wednesday or Thursday. However, it arrived on the Tuesday (24hrs earlier than expected)! Excellent!
  13. Oh for gods sake Silky, don't mention things like! Next thing we know Al will be getting an Avant or Boxer, just to heckle me!
  14. Wow I am, I mean my kids were blown away by that!
  15. The retailers on the right of this page will sell you a new rope. Problem solved! Sorry, I know that's no help. I've never cleaned my rope.
  16. You could use any diameter you want but for DdRT I would use the thickest rope possible that still works well in your friction device.
  17. They're nasty aren't they! I also recently did one over a stream, had two stems and twisting was invisible until the bar got pinched, then again, then again. and then again! Luckily we had a big tele-handler with a grab to help.
  18. Ah, that makes sense. Anyway, Silky was there to sort it out for you anyway.
  19. That looked like a rotten mess. Logs dropped all over the brash. Yuck! Good kit though.
  20. Yep, that's what I would do if I was Dean.
  21. He probably means it will be super for him!
  22. How can I possibly compete with that!
  23. I'd agree with all the above posts but would add that you can only charge what the market will bear. As an employer, I'd say that £30 is a good day rate! 😂 Hahaha! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  24. Oh, I use a Ropetek Sidewinder for my lanyard so I don't have a hip pouch. Thinking on though, I wouldn't have a HAAS with me on small & medium trees that have branches an twigs everywhere. A HAAS has just gone on my shopping list. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  25. Good intelligent post Ty.
