  1. I forgot to add that I got it from Treekit. I phoned to order one of the other more expensive jackets but after explaining what I want it for, I was given good advice and opted for the Ventura. Good service from Treekit! 👍🏼👍🏼
  2. I got a pair of these Prabos boots last week and so far I am impressed. The design seems excellent. The sole looks clumpy but isn't, it just wraps up and around the boot but I think this means there are less layers to peel apart. If they last more than 8 months then they are better than Airstreams. Simple.
  3. I recently got a Ventura jacket and wore it all day today in constant rain. First impression is that is designed perfectly for a tree climber. It feels slightly odd and tight under the arms when standing still but when your arms are raised and forwards when climbing, the fit and comfort is perfect. Looking at the inside, it seems adequately reinforced in all the necessary areas and the Sympatex material appears to be tough enough and is surprisingly stretchy. Although I couldn't care for pockets, they are in exactly the right places should you need them. I have not used the hood but it's clearly well designed. The collar can be snugged around the neck then loosened easily with use one hand and the double, double back storm flap over the main zip won't be allowing any water through. I reckon it is money very well spent as Sympatex is a proven fabric and because the jacket is designed by the Phanner boffins, the functionality is perfect.
  4. A Terex is the modified and improved Woodsman. Apparently Terex bought Woodsman. However, because we are in England you're safer buying a brand that has good customer support ie: Bandit if your looking at a bigger chipper.
  5. Do you mean moving to the new place back down south? You'll never survive a Northern winter so you should quit now and come back. David A misses you too.
  6. Why is it only half filled Bob? A full load would need a bungee to secure the back doors nicely! Haha!
  7. Now that's a smart move. You'll be running it through the business, presumably it's new and you'll lease, therefore not expensive.
  8. I've seen a photo taken looking at the end. It is vertical on one side and like a row of massive trees on the other side, overhanging fields.
  9. Give Harrycarpenter94 a call. He's not working for me, or the other firms I know, so he must be available. Lol!
  10. Phedders, I think Nod has lots of stuff not on his website. He's a really knowledgable chap so it's always worth calling to chat.
  11. I'd all but forgotten about this until I discovered that on September 13th Harry broke his wrist. He then texted in to the company he was booked with to report that he would be off work until early November. Curiously, the following week he booked to work for me on October 5th! Who's seen Harrycarpenter94? Lol!
  12. After this evenings shenanigans, I'd pay a lot more than £30 to stay away from my family! Hahaha!
  13. I bought mine from Treeworker. Love it.
  14. So you say but at the mere mention of a Landy's rear end, Dave's eyes start watering! All these years later! 😁
  15. I have a Predator 450 and it is excellent, the 460 will be better. I chose the Predator because it's cheaper than the Bandit, then I regretted the decision but since discovered that the Predator has a much much lower centre of gravity. The Bandit is a great machine but I'd choose the Predator. (Sorry Dean) I bought my Predator from Arbrep Services who did me a better deal than Predator!
  16. I know of two machines with similar issues that keep occurring. Don't wish to be a party pooper but you did ask. Sorry.
  17. I am less concerned that Harry has been incapacitated because he's been on Arbtalk recently. As he is obviously using his phone or iPad, he will know that I have left him email, text, voicemail and PM expressing genuine concern for his well being. However, he has not replied to any of these and didn't turn up for work again today. I am suspecting that he is not the professional freelancer that he claimed to be but in fact, a dead beat! I mean, confirming employment last Sunday then failing to arrive 13 hours later! Really?!
  18. I have no idea what you mean by that.
  19. There you have it, good response. I've said many times before that back up is such an important factor because down time is costly.
  20. I'd be getting my money back and buying a better chipper. Jensen or Greenmech. I was in the same position several years ago with a poor quality brand of chipper. Eventually wrote a strong letter and bought a Jensen. You're legally entitled to do this.
  21. What's happening Dave? Have you found enough work yet? It's sunny down here so I think you should come back! Haha!
  22. His life will be short of he keeps shovelling wood chip out, especially when we get to spring. Remember the OTDS thread?!
  23. When I top tie I put an Alpine Butterfly on the 'hanging / retrieving' side of the rope then attach the Alpine to my side of the rope with a 10mm oval mallion link. Works perfectly, minimum gear, cheap, easy to retrieve. I usually work off a base anchor though.
  24. Since we started using the decomp button ONLY for cold starts, my 560 had been much better. Not perfect but acceptable. We do the same thing for my 550 and that's perfect.
  25. You are very wrong! Its designed to be a great saw for 8 minutes of use. Lol!
