1. I'd have a little structure built to cover it. However I bought a chain and padlocks from Pragmassis because after lengthy research it appeared that they are the best security chains on the market.
2. If you think you need a jacket to provide more safety then many people may suggest that you're not working safely enough in the first place.
3. I have a 395xp with a 28" bar and 3/8 pitch chain and rim. Then I've got a 36" bar with .404 pitch chain and rim to match.
4. I'll try to get a photo of the socket in the spare wheel winder thing.
5. That's the thing but what shape is the end of the winding rod? Square or other? Thanks.
6. I'm at a loss! I have a 54 plate Transit tipper and the jack broke and I have searched high and low for another. The problem seems to be the shape of the socket on the chassis for the spare wheel winder. The shape seems to be a sort of teardrop shape and the only replacement jack kits I've found have a square end on the rod that goes into the socket. I have not called a Ford dealer yet. And before you ask about repairing the broken one, in a fit of rage I threw the whole lot in a bin and drove off. Any help on where to get one would be appreciated.
7. Thank you to everyone who replied to this with offers of help. A big thanks to Tom who worked with me yesterday. What a good chap!
8. Can't help it. My wife has a broom shoved up my arse so it appears that I'm mincing when wincing!!
9. It's usually much cheaper to carry on than sever the agreement! Hahahahaha!
10. Smallfield is a big gypo stronghold and they just dump their rubbish anywhere so no one will bat an eyelid if you tip in a side road. Lol!
11. A strong legal letter will sort that problem. It's not fit for purpose etc etc. Job done.
12. No, I sprinkle fairy dust in front of me and float along on that.
13. Don't you find that the webbing strap under your foot is a bit more slippery than the rubber sole would be? I just thought it would be. Thanks.
14. You can put anything on the rope to create a 3:1 advantage. I use one of my redirect loops & biner as a prussick on low drooping branches, occasionally. But yes you could put a biner under the Knee Ascender device and achieve the same. Anyway, soon enough you'll realise that this isn't a big deal in SRWP. Focus on redirects to keep your rope high up in the tree and you'll find that you always have a comfy work position. Working on DRT means avoiding friction. Working on SRT means aiming for friction points, aka redirects! Makes sense to me anyway.
15. I've altered my HAAS today so it may not be a problem again, however, knowing my luck......!
16. Yes but I can't always wear them, commercial jobs etc.
17. Do you get a commission because they're using a photo of you at work? 😂😂😂😂
18.

Hi Andy

Thanks for the message and I'll bear you in mind for the future.

Thanks

19. I seem to persistently have problems with ascending devices bending the lace hooks on my boots. The first time was my foot ascender benign a lace hook on my Airstreams. Today my HAAS bent a hook on my new Prabos boots. Does anyone have the same problem? I realise that changing my HAAS to a clip on and putting a foot loop on my boot would solve this but I don't want the foot loop because I reckon it would make the sole slippery when branch walking. (Although I often wear my Clip 'n Step boots so that would be a good combo, obviously.) Apart from blaming the groundie for this unacceptable gear failure, I don't know what else to do!
20.
Hi Jon. Is this Jon Higgs?

21. If anyone is available on Wednesday the 25th I'd be very grateful. Groundie or climber. The job is in Horley, Surrey and it's very easy with not much to clear up. Please call Al on 07834 414271 or PM me.

23. Sod that, way too much hassle. I'll be getting a Tesla Model X when they get here next summer. No engine to warm up and 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds!
24. I haven't worn them since I wrote that post because I've been wearing my Clip n Step boots. I'll be wearing them tomorrow though and I will be excellent in them!
25. Magic! I'm printing that off, getting it laminated and sticking them up around the house and work place. 😂😂😂
