  1. The problem was with the curved blade on the Silky, obviously.
  2. Trust you to think that Goaty. You've just come from the TV Girls thread haven't you.
  3. [quote name=WorcsWuss;832684 The alternative' date=' which would help both up and down, is a lighter line. As much as I enjoy fiddling, fettling and problem solving, this is all just highlighting how much I really want a big shot! [/quote] A lighter line will make more of a difference than you think. Get a Big Shot dude! It's one of those things that seems a lot of money but as soon as you use it the first time you'll hate yourself for not buying one ages ago. It saves me SO much time on every job it's been money VERY well spent.
  4. When you find out what the problem is, let me know so that I can make my Transit do the same.
  5. The bearing feels ok. I lifted up the top roller today and there was no movement at all. Is yours an A540 as well Dave?
  6. Thanks for posting this Paul. That seals the deal for me because I can't throw for sh1t. I use the BigShot for everything over 35ft and if the branch is under that I throw my Highball like a ball, funnily enough. As mentioned on another thread, I've found the Highball effective because it's much more accurate than a throw bag but if it hits a branch on the way up it bounces like a mutha. Not always a bad thing though. Do I want a RopeKnight? Yes! Will I get one? Don't know. Sadly it's still a lot of dosh and I can't see that it can make me more profitable although I do agree with every one of Thomas' arguements for the advantages. It will surely make life easier though and that is the benefit lies for me. If I ever get that spare money lieing around I'll get one.
  7. Like your style
  8. Thanks Stubby but that's not the problem. I'm now wondering if the angle is supposed to be like that, at rest, but I can't figure out how the rollers are hitting because they fit on the shafts with a key. ????????
  9. Here is the photo. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Does your A540di top roller look like this, at this angle? The problem doesn't appear to the angle actually but the left side of the top roller is hitting the bottom roller. It's just been apart for bottom roller replacement. The top roller mounting is siting correctly on the stops on both sides. Why are the rollers hitting when they weren't before? 11. That's disgusting. Coppers should be ashamed of themselves. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Another way of looking at it Deeco. If you had to pass the karabs through the loops to make the daisy chain, you did it wrong so start the daisy chain from the other end. If not, no problem and Tommy B has it wrong but I see the point he's making. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. I love that rotator head!
  14. Brilliant! All the gypos and cowboy traders could be wrapped up this way, that would solve one economic problem. They could then be fed to homeless and impoverished people around the world, that would solve another economic problem.
  15. Have you used one for a throw weight? I have and it was useless. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Where do you get the Arb Aid Kits. In my truck I've got a standard 1st Aid kit plus 2 big wound dressings, some Cellox, roll of duct tape and a T-shirt. That may sound stupid but I've been in a car crash and rock climbing accident and those last two items were the best. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Here we go again! 👎 Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. When the Rope Knight is sheathed in the foam cover does it bounce off branches much or does the foam just absorb impact. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Good post Wouter. I hate my Echo! However, the chain on the T536 appears to be the same as the chain on my Echo. This is not nearly as good as the Micro Pico on an MS200. Am I wrong? If not, can a good 'Pro' chain be used on the T536?
  20. There is a photo of my HighBall on the OCD thread here: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/50626-o-c-g-d-thread-3.html But there is a thread on it here: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/climbers-talk/32604-anyone-highball.html
  21. WorcsWuss, I'm really interested to know how it bounces off branches if it hits one. My Highball is really accurate but bounces like a mutha. This can be accidentally advantageous or totally horrific! In fact I'll try to film it on Wednesday and post it if its useful. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  23. Excellent! I'm on my iPhone so can't see the catapult too well. Do you have any close up shots? What weight is the ball with attachments? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. Yes I was wondering the same. If you can explain how it happened it may help others avoid the same drama. Speedy recovery.
