  1. Best thing about the Gadget Show, of course you knew this post would be coming from me soon.
  2. I bought a Transit with steel tipper body. Took it to these guys, they took off the steel and built an ally body to my exact spec. Unrivalled service and price. They also weighed the truck before and after so I knew how much weight had been shed and how much payload I now had. Brilliant. 3. This is the bomb! Rock Exotica UFO
  4. Mmm. Difficult to choose. I'm in a hurry so don't have time to get a sling spliced to a Pinto Rig so I'll be using a karab whichever i choose.
  5. Cool. ASAP please.
  6. Iveco seem very popular. Depending on your budget look at Stephen Blair's Iveco. Bargain. Wish I could afford it.
  7. Have you worked out what it costs every month over two years? I think after using one you'll buy one. I did and it's the best value for money piece of kit I ever bought. Best money I ever spent.
  8. What's most popular? I need to get another pulley and can't decide on the ISC swing cheek or the DMM Rig. It's to be used as another re-direct as my DMM Impact pulley does the scary stuff. I have one ISC swing cheek already but just wondered if the DMM Rig might be a good option. Thanks.
  9. You should start another thread on that. Brilliant. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Quite a few of us would be interested in your thoughts on the Protos whilst working in the heat. You could post on this thread: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/52221-protos-arborist-helmet.html because since I got mine and started the thread the weather has been cold.
  11. What on earth is on your feet? Slip on boots??
  12. Thank god I've got two boys. It looks like a whole world of stress worrying about daughters.
  13. oh, i was referring to redirects. Sorry, my mistake.
  14. Ewan, what do your hands do? Do they go hand over hand above the RW?
  15. Bottom roller bearing on my chipper crumbled yesterday at 1pm. Called Charles at Arbrep and took it over to him. 4hrs later it was fixed and ready to go. Awesome service as usual:thumbup: For those of you that don't know him Charles is a real 'fixer' and his answer to everything is "Yes, won't be problem". He's South African so doesn't believe in winging and complaining. Arbrep Services - Woodchipper Parts, Repairs and Maintenance - Hampshire UK
  16. Can't picture how the ring would work without threading the entire tail through it. Do u have a photo? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  18. This is a good video with a good simple set up. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSHt_gijntM]HHRW - Hitch Hiker Rope Walker - YouTube[/ame]
  19. This also works and is a simplified version, less gear involved. It works exactly the same with a RW. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSHt_gijntM]HHRW - Hitch Hiker Rope Walker - YouTube[/ame]
  20. It makes sense to me Worcs but does the tug line need to be so long? I clip my chest harness straight into my harness bridge sometimes but usually to the HH. When I used RW I clipped the chest harness into the HC pulley. What do your hands do with this system? Do you just hand over hand on the rope above the RW?
  21. Yes I do it all the time but I use a small oval Maillon to clip the Butterfly and the work side of the rope together.
  22. Thanks Wolter. I realise it's not a replacement but I only need two top handled saws which means I can't get the 536 until my 200t or Echo dies. Maybe someone will buy the Echo. Thanks.
  23. Whatever you do, dodge a Transit. Worse than useless!
  24. Someone mentioned on an earlier post that the thought of having to tie a stopper knot puts them off because the HH can't be used with eye2eye. A few people have mentioned this on The Treehouse but then come back and said it's no biggie. I don't think it's an issue, it's only one knot to tie because the other one stays in place permanently. Also as previously mentioned the HH is very hitch sensitive so being able to 'tune' the hitch to suit the feeling you like could be seen as advantageous by some, irritating by others. Quite fun being able to tweak it though and you can adjust it on the wet days when everything feels a bit sticky.
