  1. I have a client with one next to the house. Beautiful tree and I have pruned it twice, very gently. It has always remained the same though, with the 'fern' leaves.
  2. Marc, how very dare you suggest that I improve my hand throwing skills. If I did this, the BigShot would become redundant = more money wasted! Haha! Anyway, hand throwing is impossible and I've wasted too much time wondering where it's gone only to hear it land behind me! I'll stick with the BS and hand throw only into Apple trees. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  3. That's funny Adam. I know it's three tanks because I can remember exactly how much cutting its done. That'll all change tomorrow though on a high speed Aesculus dismantle. Can't wait. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  4. I've only had three tanks through mine and it's sweet. Very glad with the choice (although I wish I'd bought the battery topper instead) and I've even greased the bar sprocket, first time ever for me. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  5. T540xp. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  6. I walk up and down the garden round several obstacles dragging the line behind me. That helps straighten it out a bit before it goes in the cube. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  7. Why do you feel the need to argue? It's not the topic of the thread. I won't visit this thread again. Good luck. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  8. All you need now is a RopeKnight and you'll have the ultimate access system. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  9. Another Arbtalk bickering match but this time it's becoming rasist. Not good. For the record, I said there are good and bad people in every country and I didn't say the British are bad, I repeated what someone else told me. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  10. I think I understand what you mean John but having to push the tool down slightly is a whole lot better than carrying the entire tool on your hands, wrists, arms, shoulder, neck and back. My small hedge cutter floats up because it's quite light. My long combi hedge cutter sinks down slowly. If I put the extension in the combi I have to lift even more but probably only 30% of the overall weight because the ELH is transfering the weight onto my hips and legs. Either way we look at it, The ELH makes the day SO much easier.
  11. I met a guy several years ago you owns a large commercial Arb firm. He said he tries to only employ Polish and Kiwis because the British are useless. He's quite right. I have a Polish guy on my my team and he's great although I should add that's because he's a good man, not because of his heritage. There are good and bad people in every country.
  12. I few weeks ago I placed my first order with Skyland on the phone because the three dealers I called first were not exactly helpful. I was buying a chainsaw in a real hurry so price was not a concern. Mark was very efficient so I bought without hesitation. I ordered a few small things on-line last week, dispatched perfectly with a follow up email to inform me about the out of stock items that will follow on next week.
  13. Agreed, also having Great and Timberwolf in the same sentence.......... Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  14. The most dangerous thing in Arb work is an ego. After people finish a College course, whether it's a 10wk or 2yr, they usually think they are tree surgeons. They are not! They are people with certificates. Assume that it will take you three years to get off the bottom rung of the ladder in terms of being commercially safe and viable to your employer. Most of all, keep your eyes and ears open. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  15. Or have a testicle removed to create more space. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  16. Oops. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!

  18. You should be careful accepting bribes and all staff should be treated like slaves! Not sure if that helps though. 😱 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  19. It may not be completely perfect with any of your tools, depending on their precise weight. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  20. I too came from mechanical (Lockjack) and it took a while to get used to using a hitch again and having faith in it. A mechanical will always grab but a hitch may not and a year later, I still get nervous about it. I miss the Lockjack but I really don't miss climbing DdRT. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  21. I don't wish to derail the thread but have you considered the options? I only mention this because quite a few Uni users have switched to the RW in preference and then moved to the Hitch Hiker in preference to the RW. Of course I don't know what suits you best and if that is the Unicender, enjoy. I haven't used a Uni so I can't help with rope choice. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  22. Gun law I say! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  23. Crap. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  24. One of my local Tree Officers told me the story of the day that a crew from a AAAC firm near here slashed a knife through the roof of a 911 convertible to let the hand brake off and push it out the way! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
