  1. I did wonder how they were going to dispose of all the old batteries, why on earth did it not occur to me that chipping them would work. Thanks.
  2. The first one you linked was better than thissun BH
  3. Indeed!
  4. There has been much talk of the true meaning of Christmas being lost in the hard rampant commercialism of the last 30 years or so. I intend to celebrate Christmas in the old way. As the proper Pagen celebration of the shortest day, with hope for the longer days ahead.
  5. On that note, you will note, I have not contributed. Which is to say, Bah Humbug!
  6. Well I got stuck on a flat roof, when the aluminium ladder, that was footed on a level concrete street and resting on the aluminium guttering, simply blew over, in the merest zephyr. Man did the wife not chortle when she came back home some hours later. mth
  7. I will just duck . . . really did not work.
  8. Some would contend we are all of some ethnic origin . . .
  9. I am slightly ambivalent re Kosher or Halal killing, if the knife is razor sharp and it is properly done. We ourselves do not hardly actually feel a cut, however bad, when it happens, in my experience. And having been obliged to visit an abattoir as an adolescent, it was downright God awful unpleasant, despite the use of the stun gun, the cattle were stressed to hell and gone long before they were killed, probably to the point of not caring how the end actually came. Someone once suggested that all those who choose to eat meat should be obliged to visit an abattoir and observe the suffering associated with their love of a good steak, or burger. I think that is a very sound idea. I still enjoy meat, but only occassionally. mth
  10. I will "see you and raise you Sir" see link below https://thefarmingforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/how-to-move-a-dead-horse.16734/ Allow yourself time to read it all.
  11. Edited: Aint Google wonderful, I got all I need.
  12. She has'nt. She does.
  13. As a non-arborist even I understand the logic of what you are saying. (i) You are qualified to climb and cut/reduce trees of any size/girth, so the size of the tree does not matter since you reduce it piecemeal. A large tree simply takes longer. (ii) You are only qualified to FELL trees, in their entirity, of not more than 380mm. But this is not applicable, since you wont be felling this tree. Typical fail-safe attitude because they do not understand. Cant offer any other help, other than my understanding of your frustration. mth

    Rats

    Just watch Roland dos'nt fight back;
  15. Would that not then explain the "stoochk", i.e. black smoke being generated due to incomplete combustion?
  16. Yer showing yer age there Stubby Mate!
  17. I figger "someone" is playing the injectors like an organ, quite how I dont know, but the only plausible explanation.
  18. Well Doh! in Hell Obviously, like!
  19. See link; My kinda woman.
  20. You dont half spoil that Dog! With it's own bloody stove.
  21. I too managed that on a hard paved yard, and for an ould done codger of 55 odd I well surprised myself at how my body reacted, jumped(from a high mounted seat) rolled and bounced up again. But I could as easily got hurt, perhaps quite badly. And, as someone earlier pointed out, we only learn from our mistakes.
  22. Bingo!, 'cept collision rather than crash, but the logic is the same in any other occupation. P.S. A little known, but related fact, is the fact that Northern Ireland led the way in self driving car technology some 40 odd year ago. Well, based on the number of people I heard way back then explaining that; "the car just skidded", or "the car just left the road" etc etc After they had crashed due to driving without due care and attention
