  1. Recently discussed this with the wife, i.e. false accusations of assault, more from a marriage breakup perspective, and our sad conclusion was "get your retaliation in first" , since the Police appear to believe the accuser, even though if from pure vindictive motivations the accusation is false. Quite why the Police appear to be unable to understand how base human nature works is perplexing. mth
  2. Enough to make me fucking Puke, but not unlike Obama's entirely unmerited award. https://www.indy100.com/article/greta-thunberg-nobel-peace-prize-climate-change-school-strike-8823506
  3. Ah the horrors of a custard covered Earth westphalian . . .
  4. I dont wonder, but I sure as hell do worry.
  5. Joe Stalin lives on, writing "undesirables" out of history, which is to say Facebook have done an Uncle Joe on Tommy Robinson, see link;
  6. 8 tonne for us, the dwelling gave a bit of a kicking =43% of it Actually that 8 tonne is for both of us, so make that 4 tonne?
  7. That is another "project" for me to sort out, some day, getting the 30HP DOL motor (+ another 10HP motor on the hyd power pack) on the Baker bandsawmill to run off a reasonable sized genny, without prematurely knackering the genny's engine due to spending a lot of its time little more than ticking over. Fingers crossed(while I still got them to cross) Just need to find an electrician first!
  8. I cannot understand, that with modern electronics, that it should be beyond the ken o man, to cunningly arrange super-capacitors, to provide for the necessary start-up current, without overloading the incoming supply. And fine if it only allows a start every 30 mins/1 hr whatever, no odds, for the vast majority of users. By the way I read an article about single phase motor development in the USA, that using, if I understood half correctly, a beefed up version of the technology used in brushless DC cordless power tools, they can run 100HP motors on single phase. WOW! Marcus
  9. Squaredy, Are you saying you ran a 5HP single phase motor? I can understand the need to be v close, or use a shocking heavy power lead if that was the case. Not bought a saw yet, but looking at a few the 3ph ones seem to be 5.5 or 7.5kW So to round up the 5.5KW=7.5HP. Also considering the electric saw option for the Logosol mill, which would be 3PH, and if the same ph converter could drive either . . . marcus
  10. I for one would be only too happy to see the UN put on a Spaceship for 80,000 years, at least.
  11. I do hope she has got the appropriate tickets to be using a chainsaw?
  12. Appears to be a very reasonable analysis of this rather cloudy issue.
  13. Looking at buying an electric firewood saw, I tried a single ph powered one a good no of years ago, and rather opted for the PTO version. But, man o man an electric saw would be so handy for working in the shed. But if I want more "oomph" I gotta go 3ph, so I need a ph convertor. I seem to remember our single ph supply was stated to be good for 8KVA/8KW Any advice would be gratefully received. marcus
  14. She was not pleased, but could not refute my impeccable logic. The man who replaced her, after she totally ripped the arse out of the Council's sick policy due to health issues (and after years of having to have another male officer accompany her, basically to do her job for her) Probably issued more fixed penalities in a month, than she ever did, and made it look easy.
  15. Tsk! tsk! KJ How fallacious can one get, a motel at £59.00 per night is not a nursing home at £185.00, with nursing care provided. A comparison with a residential home might be more pertinent? Unless he has prearranged a "hit" to terminate his residency if/when ill health strikes?
  16. Stubby, I made the same argument to our local blond, and fond of herself, and very ineffectual, ex RUC, Environmental Warden, when she rather primly suggested that I had no grounds for reporting flytipping on our land, because there were no signs displayed. Except I simply said; "do you mind if I come round and crap in your good front room, because I bet you dont have any signs not telling me to do that".
  17. The above loathsome individual is best described as "you couldn't make it up if you tried" in respect of the deep conflict between her profligate taxpayer funded lifestyle and her ministerial appointment, but then she is probably profoundly narcissistic. The perfect example of what is wrong with most career politicians. Marcus
  18. Better watch out the wee girl disnay grow up to be another "climate Barbie" see link
  19. I hope it has not been posted before, but a search did not suggest so . . .
  20. Meh! I ud worry more about a big fucking meteorite crash-bang-walloping into the Earth. And as easy to predict or prevent as any of our present perceptions of climate instability. mth
  21. Them fuzzi-wuzzi's in Aden still at it? An I thought we were told it were all the Brits fault back in the 60's. Scheesh!
  22. Spud, is the above quote not putting the cart before the horse? Or rather to run a saw hard and hot, more lubrication is probably advisable? And/Or to burn the excess lubrication oil, the saw needs to be worked hard and hot? I know nowt about 2 stroke tuning btw! mth
