  1. Quite a few. I was somewhat inebriated.(It was not my car btw, actually belonged to one of the nurses). And both hands being rather busy. (Helping the young ladies get squeezed in, you understand) I could not use my fingers to count. (Well I kinda could of, but better not go there?) cheers m
  2. Nope, this is a straight sided specially bought measuring "cup", from Stihl, i think, that has both imperial (for 1 gall imp) and metric (for 5 litre) measurments for 50:1 and 25:1 mixs. So when we mix a full 10 litre can, fuel measured at the pump, it is the 25:1 line they use. Being 2 by 5 litres of 50:1 mix Again it was absolutly alien Man from Mars Rocket science to explain that they should perhaps jibble and fill fuel tanks and perhaps even pour mix from 1 10l jar to another. So as to leave an EMPTY 10 litre jar so they could accurately mix............10litres worth. As opposed to the "well it took 3.5l to fill this jar, and 2.5 litre in that jar and 7 litres in the third jar , so how much oil do I put in each jar?" Yes, absolutly seriously. And they should rinse the measuring cup out and invert it over the cap of the 10 litre Stihl 2 stroke oil jar. Which sits on a bench at the back of the shed. And never moves. Simples? Apparently not.
  3. Surprising how many horny nurses could fit in an origional Fiat 500. heh heh heh!
  4. Useful in the Autumn (i.e. just now) For the leaves like. Bag capacity a bit light looking though
  5. Hmmmm, Not sure if I would even trust them with a tea-pot, never mind the Earl Grey. marcus
  6. Bloody hell, what am I reading. been running at 50:1 on red Stihl this past 15 or 20 years. Suziki MX120 engines and Stihl strimmers mostly. Had to throw a wobbly or 2 to cure my staff of the old "bung a bit more in" for sure, for sure., for very very sure to be needing to be changing plugs regularly like They also looked at me like I had 2 heads, when I suggested they should really rinse out the calibrated measuring container with the mix petrol. They appear to feel the dead flies stuck in the oil from the last mix improve it somehow. Wtf will persons not "do what it says on the tin" Absolutly no issues this last good number of years.
  7. An absolute avid SF fan when younger. Never saw a single SW film, not interested. Wtf was that light sabre nonsense when obviously they would have developed lazar rifles guns etc (for instance) Might watch them from start to finish out of dumb curosity
  8. Acorn=mice, imho/experience. I am "bringing on" Oaks and Beech that have self-seeded up the Moss. Move an odd one off the rodden out of harms way and cut back some of the overhanging shadowing vegitation. Moved a few larger ones with the tractor link box as well, basically scooped and bulldozed to a more suitable location. Plus planted Ash, Oak and Beech in the front field, they have really started to get away now, about 5 years after planting. There is also a quite wonderful sheltered environment developing below the Hawthorn hedge/behind the curtain of couch grass and weeds. The big dog has created himself a snug day-bed to eat bones and comtemplate life. It could be snowing a blizzard and he would not even know or notice. I get a real pleasure finding new volunteer Oaks, and the occassional Beech each year as I walk the dogs.
  9. I paid £2000.00 10 to 15 year ago. I then replaced the poxy wee basic axle set, with what you see. Valve chest leaks, slewing mechanism a bit worn and imprecise, all very basic, lifts about a 1/2m3 (carefully measured and bundled) of softwood at full stretch. Can drag heavier stuff closer and lift one end at a time though. OK for my smaller conifers. And much stronger than my back. Quite nicely matched to the DB's capabilities, in the ground I am in= Peat Moss
  10. Erm! Where did the firemen come from or Whytf were they there. Absolutly seriously. Marcus
  11. Handy then to power the ram for a tipper conversion. Yes They are a very "tidy" looking truck.
  12. Since our Iveco 7.5 tonne tipper only has a nominal/just over 3000kg payload. I would have thought these in 4 by 4 spec could not have any more payload once fitted with tipping gear and bodywork. Neat and Tidy looking truck though. PS Pure tyre kicking courosity, But what type/capacity is the winch. ie PTO driven /mid chassis mounted, or hydraulic?
  13. Whooly owned by Toyata, i believe. Popular with the farming community here at one time. Very very highly rated for their towing capabilities. Reputably as tough as they were thirsty though.
  14. bloody farmers with their VAT free grants humph!
  15. Craig, Link please? I will however cost the 3 ph connection, if only to "add value" to our property for future generations ( mind, a trifle wistfully at the moment)
  16. I would be looking at a 4-6 cyl diesel 3PH generating set. BUT, harvesting the otherwise wasted heat. Not a poxy wee off-the-shelf mains gas fuelled pipsqueak/lifestyle CHP set. The bonus for me would be the 3ph electric. My 3Ph electric usuage would be so intermittent/some days only /some daylight hours only, that if needs be I could either use the 3 PH to drive the GSHP or satisfy my demands with the GSHP switched off.
  17. NFD!! Land Rover!! Hawk an Spit, an wash yer mouth oot with soap "G" Wagen man that I am. Actually going to speak to a guy the brother is friendly with, who installed his own GSHP in a new build, some years ago. Ps CHP+GSHP=ideal, using the power to drive the GSHP, and the high temp exhaust and cooling water from the engine for domestic hot water. I feel a Heath Robinson solution coming on. Then I could also have 3 PH to drive a bandsaw mill etcetc
  18. New Forest DEAN, As a grumpy cynical 54 year old failed Civil Engineer who plumbed the house complete with the then absolute novelty of underfloor heating, and bunged in a bit of extra insulation and thermal Mass. (but wish i had installed more, wider cavities etc etc.) Despite being told (at the time) i was an eejit, cos sure heating oil is dirt cheap (and it was in 1995/1996) I will be well "on guard" I also "know" how much energy it actually takes to heat our dwelling, rather than theory figs. Plus only need "background" heat, the Morso taking care of our "spot" heat needs in the living room (& we generally have to leave the door open to the rather large Hall, stairs and landing space) The living room heating design being rather ;belt, braces + galluses. i.e Full underfloor, 3 large double rads, plus the Morso. The kitchen only got a big double rad, plus full underfloor + the cooker i suppose.
  19. Bingo Ollywood, that gshp heat during absences is a factor as well. Though simple enough (in our case) to leave the oil boiler running on the time clock driving the underfloor.
  20. I thought you were attempting a statue of yourself? Or the anchient Egyptian "dog-god", with undertones of Easter Island It is quite good really. The essentials are there and correct. Could I say it looks "right" even if still unfinished. cheers marcus
  21. Sorry folks I omitted the very pertinent "optional" extra dusting and cleaning. With 5 dogs with the full run of the downstairs, incl our bed. very very optional. PS A lovely woman at work looked quite preturbed when I explained my gross disappointment with our brand new built in Smart/Beam vaccum system. As in I still had to go round with a suction brush and hose. But no worries as I had simply binned the Vaccum, merely open the front door fully to the South, the back door fully to the North, and by propping the 2 intermediate doors open. The "fluff bunnies" generally found their own way our. I was not entirely joking. cheers m
  22. So owt under 59 minutes is ok:001_smile: oh! Did I mention I were well feart of heights:blushing: Nah I'll just pay my way in
  23. But even that is only part of the cost equation. The greater installation costs for any wood burner compared to a balanced flue gas installation. Plus the hassle and space required for storage and the daily embuggerance of carting wood in to be burned. Never mind the extra dusting and cleaning
  24. How fast does one be required to Pole Climb..............................to qualify for free entry. Ah kin start practising. A lot! Oh PS What tonnage is the safety rope certified for?
