  1. Oh ere Mrs! dats proper fighting talk, that is! Re wor beloved, but quite absurbly dysfunctional, NHS.
  2. 3 litres 3 litres 3 litres 3 litres did some bemoan the recent mania for cc downsizing. tee hee! Who said der Germans dinny ave a sense of humour!
  3. matelot, mate, and all kudos to the MICE btw=Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers?, a generally sound thinking bunch, this opinion coming from a final year failed Civil Engineering Student. One requires to disconnect the 2 events, and definately NOT assume/presume one is directly attritutable to the other. i.e Immigreants = the source of all the UK's problems Bit like "the Pill" and Overian Cancer ME I look at what I know to be true, from personal experience of over 50 years observations, of some dysfunctional, some hypocondracial, some paranoid, some a trifle dylusional, some with inflated senses of their own abilities, sometimes even seen when looking in the mirror, but all work mates, Church mates, Pub mates, of varying levels of intelligence, who all sincerely avere their friends-and-relations are all, absolutly 110% halo wearing perfect individuals:001_huh: And any problems in Society HAS to be Their* fault. Their* being "the others" =somebody else. i.e. The Taigs The Prods etc etc marcus
  4. Unfortunately I can understand Nigel Farages appeal to the "baying Mob" of mostly uninterested/uneducatable Popular Opinion. Just like Hitler appealed to the screwed over Germans , screwed over by the excessive & humilating reparations, in the hungry 1930's. Any of these successful leaders of a Mob always have to find someone ELSE to blame. The Jews The Blacks The Muslims The outsiders. Never, but never, dare suggest the Mob are actually largely responsible for their own misfortunes
  5. I wants! Volkswagen Amarok gets V6 power for 2016 | | Honest John Dribble' n drool
  6. Unfortunately I precieve Trump as a very venal greedy individual, purely out for himself and his back-scratching business cronies. and "screw the environment" From 2nd hand observations of his relatively recent high-handed Scottish Golf Course exploits & tactics. M edit I would 100% agree with the N-P diagnosis as mentioned above. PS If Trumph truely spoke his mind, it ud be a very short speech.
  7. Like Boris, Nigel Farage is NOT stupid or unintelligent, they are merely allowing themselves to be portrayed as buffons by their enemies, for the endless free publicity, there being no such thing as bad publicity, at a certain stage in ones formative or aspiring political years. Good luck to both of them. At least they might be more honest than most other aspiring politicans who are always knicker-wetting concerned about being seen to be absolutly politically correct.
  8. Dats da beauty o a closed in stove, strangle the air intake, for a controlled, by ear, "burn". As experienced when burning perhaps slightly moist Birch, with lovely residual highly calorific sugary sap, , AND banking the stove up absolutley to refusal at night, and then strangling the draught, so as to burn overnight/leave embers for the morning re-kindle. Most impressive hearing 10m of 200mm dia flue roar and belch sparks in the dark. The 4 feet of stove pipe, directly above the stove, glowing dull cherry red was also most impressive:lol: As witnessed on 3 or 4 occassions. Good job the first floor is "T" beam and concrete block construction. m
  9. Indeed . . . i.e. Expect to pay Commercial rates for Commercial cover. m
  10. see att uncleaned since stove installed for the winter of 1996, a 4' length of enamalled stove pipe stuffed up the trueflue and surrounded by glass wool. pulled away today to examine the flue. WoW! clean or wot NB Must look at the top end as well. cheers m
  11. Mr. smartarse chimnay-sweep:001_tt2: see att

    2k Paint

Pearl Paint | Buy custom coatings online at Specialist Paints I am looking forward to seeing diggers 'n site dumpers appearing with "snazzy" paint jobs, Honest Guv!
  13. I like! Ah Also got a stack of HGV brake drums hoarded for just such a construction. cheers m
  14. Sniff! Wor 'owever 'umble 105BHP 1.6TDI Octavia wit der DSG transmission just lifted a 3000kg (weighed so I actually know) up a moderately steep lane with speed bumps and then manouvered said trailer back and forward, in around steel stanchions in a dutch barn. Some 4 miles later. With zero clutch slip or fuss, other than a wee scrabble from the front tyres, never pulling more than 3000rpm and only using D1 to pull away from a dead standstill, and then only v briefly. Who needs 3 litres. m
  15. Ya want a 4*4 see; Top 10 vans from the CV Show 2016 | | Honest John cheers m
  16. Though the "Reductio ad Absurdum" can bite on on the Bum:001_rolleyes:
  17. 100% good stuff.
  18. Indeed, per my own appreciation of der blurb, but contradicted by him wot is supposed to knoe, the Co Down dealer. Fingers crossed.
  19. Kinda I did however witness Matt Hellesby Huston, a gunner in the TA, back about 1983-1985, reverse a LWB Series III Landrover "flat-out" (and in the high box!) with a poxy short wheelbase Army trailer on behind, on a NATO pintle hitch. For some considerable distance. OK On dead flat concrete(a runway) But nevertheless an astonishing performance. Before the days of camera phones unfortunately.
  20. Took a long hard look at a Clearview Pioneer oven model today, burning very very old dry hardwood in/on a display stand caravan, very very impressed I must say. A pity the flue can only be top mounted on the oven model rather have it going out the back to allow a larger top surface. hmmm!
  21. v tidy set-up specially as a winching unit, just looks "right"
  22. I had looked at the Snugburner as an option, BUT , since discontinued production, prob sommat to do with ce approval costs, advertised as being due to inability of AGA engineers to service a pressure jet installation, and normal pressure jet trained guys "feart" of touching an AGA. They still offer parts and support though, seemed like a genuine bloke/firm to my mind. cheers m
  23. OSM The image above is the exact same model as our AGA, which I took a look at last night. Quite unfeasible to convert to wood firing, so I shall merely strip her down and palletize for a future rainy day when my back starts telling me heating oil is cheap. Regards all, m PS wtf did AGA not do a Timken "wall flame" oil burner, instead of a wick, totally silent, and as I understood from Dad 45 year ago, reasonably efficient.
  24. Indeed Billhook, a very valid point, but SM (Senior Managment) has her notions:thumbup: and while she continuies to keep my belly well filled and testicles well-empty, I shall attempt to humour her. regards M
  25. Erm, why?, from fond memories of exploring & exploiting the performance envelope of a wee 540 Universal many year ago, He got fat tyres, chains & brains, on an bomb proof tractor, designed for this very type of use, & in some eyes abuse. Rock on Tommy! PS A gut judgement, but I instantly figgered he was NOT abusing the clutch, despite the theatricals.
