No one at yard very often and end up with 10 load wood chip tipped and £40 through the letterbox

All my logs are loose loads No bagging Load with 1.3cubic metre bucket on forklift I've never sold kindling and lot people say it's hard to sell for some reason My cousin bought a lorry load several yrs ago and still has half left and does around 400 loads a yr! I like idea of being able to do it in rain as it's in shed or for half hour at time when it's not worth getting log processin gear out

  13. I have a 02 plate transit tipper that needs lot work doing for mot could ust tipping cradle, pump off that then sell rest for spares drives and runs perfect I did a 110 hi cap landrover few yrs back with exactly same gear mechanic charged me £300 to convert and did it in day you would use excisting body on ranger
  14. id be in and no 3 others who would for the stalking!!
  15. There are 20 people doing firewood within 5 miles at less than. £80 for good half transit load. Most my wood costs nothing but time to process which to be honest is not really a cost as we have to pay them anyway and most time through winter they doing nothin at all to earn us a penny We do have 500 ton beech stacked at farm that cost less than £16 ton from our own woods and more we bought roadside at £40 ton from neighbour This will go long way when mixed with our free wood I take 4 loads at time out and also sell bulker loads split hardwood to get good hire rate for tractor/processor and 2 men, then much better rate than normal to deliver in bulker with a return load. Keeps everything turning over and money coming in at time when there is little income on an arable farm
  16. we cant get anywhere near that down here not if u want to sell in big volume anyway £90 1.3 cube this yr and already getting old customers going elsewhere cos they think too dear!!! cant believe u trying to knock me down on bulker load my softwood which contains willow, poplar and I noticed today small amount hardwood ??

  21. I got timber trailer in yard with crane on it. Rates are getting worse and worse which I don't understand as its specialist job. That's why I bought it thinking money would be good. Everywhere you go with it terrible access, lorry gets wrecked. When you get other end same again.
  22. Good tractors but they not cheap now a days. The 70 series ford/new holland is same sort thing. Built like tank and easy to repair. We have 3 of them.. All from same sort time.. 1996-2002ish.. Lot people inc us gone from newer john deeres or new Hollands back to these..
  23. I used to gross £1500 a day 10 yrs ago no problem and pay a climber £150 a day. Can't find that sort work anymore and climbers still £150- 180 day here.
