  1. Go for it! I don't know how many times I've dropped my chainsaw in a river and it starts up again. It was 260. Dropped both running and off. You can't get much wetter than that but yes stay away from the carb.

  3. On the 21/2/2013 was 7.6 with no breaks, now it was 8.8 with no breaks after a full dinner. Into the nines is defo next week!
  4. Best advice posted, the Prussic for me is ok for small quick climbs but after that and its killing my elbows. Just not elbow friendly at all. Hand over hand method eliminated everything.

  6. Thats happened before not re the gasket but in other stuff lol seals and meteor piston ordered, just gotta get the carb sorted then put it all back together and she'll be like brand new
  7. That's good to know There's none on the mating surfaces just on the paint inside the crank area above the bearing. I'm enjoying this and learning as I go
  8. Finally had the confidence to put the bearings in my 200T's crankcase! tis a nerve tingling thing to try first time without wanting to damage anything! I put the bearings in the freezer overnight and put the crankcases in the oven at 110degrees for ten minutes. (Dad gave me some look and a few words were exchanged but stood my ground lol). A little 3in1 around the Bearing sides and tapped in with a hammer at alternating positions. Jobs a good un! Checked the other side and it all sits flush. Need to order the seals, any advice on the seals/crank installation? Put the rank in the freezer? Do I need to heat the crankcases again? Also it's hard to see but on the left crankcase there is some light scoring, would it be beneficial to go over this with some 1200 grit paper?

    I think it's a great idea but as per usual everything has its down falls. It would be a disaster dismantling.
  11. You can use a range of chemicals, the one that was found handiest to me was a tub of Caustic Soda from B&Q. Apply it a couple of times for about 10min each application. Until aluminium has gone. Applying only where needed and don't forget your gloves goggles etc Whenever it stops bubbling then its all gone.

  13. I've got on my bench today my MS200T rebuild. Placed the crankcase in the freezer for an hour or so, took it out. Removed the seals and heated the bearings up.with a heat gun and banged them out with a socket head. This time no damage to any edges or lips (well chuffed ). Just waiting on the seals and bearings from MisterSolutions arriving any day now, crank going back in is sound. Crankcases all nice and clean The failure on this crankcase was the bearing on the right. The one on the left was still sound. Going to be abit of a riddle trying to put all wires and ignition back in correctly from memory.
  14. I think there's a small place for GETrees in a very restrictive "greenhouse" environment..... Like Mars but I do agree there is no place for it in a natural environment such a Earth, too many repercussions. Again it all boils down to corporate profit...
  15. If the crankcase gasket is snookered it will be leaking air causing it to run lean. Depending on where its leaking If your handy with tools go for it! A gasket isn't that expensive I don't think
