  1. scary though that you and martin are now out there with your washing line pulleys and polyprop rope lol well done mate.
  2. bloody hell dave i leave you for a week
  3. should be alrite bloody hurt getting the dressing off tho

  4. hi paul where abouts are you a keeper if you ever need a hand give me a shout starting to miss it again was a single handed keeper, ive sent you a pm wiv my number
  5. you can say all you want about keepers but untill you have actually been a keeper with a tied house you really cant say anything!! it makes not an ounce of difference to a shoot owner that you have been working 7 days a week from april rearing the birds from day olds or you have been out all night after that fox that has been causing you problems and have only had half an hours kip, if the birds aren't there its your fault, been there, done that. so any keeper will not want to run the risk of it disrupting his birds even if in the long run it will benefit the shoot. just work with them as much as you can and when you get the green light work as fast as you can
  6. i think becoming an aaac is a good goal to aim for. some do still produce sub standard work, and at the moment it is only people in the industry/LA that know who and wot the aa are about, and a real effort has to be made by the aa to inform the public as to wot they and their approved contractors are about to be of any gain really in becoming aaac.
  7. pm sent
  8. gripples are bloody brilliant, well worth the money if your doin alot of fencing saves alot of time to.
  9. how did you catch your nose lol? if public access is a problem wait till winter and have a go at drey poking can account for a large number very quickly. have to agree with the other lads who are pro snareing as a former keeper can voutch that if done properly very effective and safe. fenn mk4's in a well hidden tunnel/hole would be the way i would go along with shooting. the magnums also work well when used in conjuction with a climbing pole onto a tree.
  10. how many m3 can you take at a time and do you want hard or softwood?
  11. do you ever climb without a crane reg? good job again
  12. ive got six! 3 labs 3 springers all work apart from one lab who is a pet try as we might to get him to work lol buster, ruby, gem, pip, basil and murphy
  13. i think one thing that has to be taken into account is this fulltime employment or for a freelance groundy. £60 a day full time isnt that bad, you know you will have work, might have progression up the company, tickets paid for ppe provided but for a self employed person with tickets/experience its peanuts. if you are using freelance groundsman/climber you should expect to pay for it for the fact you can just say i dont need you next week all next month ect. we all have to make a living at the end of the day
  14. yeah i said i was glad i wasnt working lol
  15. aid showed me the pics last week even he said hes never seen anything like it.
  16. have to agree with everyone rob it is far too high make it shorter and hinge the roof

  19. i used to be just down the road from you, used to keeper on waply hill!
  20. where about in hereford are you based flaming ace?
  21. blackberry but will be getting an iphone next
  22. at least its not another step cut fell, video
  23. fair enough if that is your view i must be lucky then that i can ask advice on pricing from a couple of people who both work in the same area and that i subbie for about pricing. i really cant see the problem with it the bloke starting out and wanting advice, as i said to him need more details of the job, but well done to the several posters that said that he will need to work out No of days x price per day + extras may seem simple to alot of us but it was advice/help all the same. there seem too many people on here that say stuff just for the sake of it offerin little or no help to the question that has been asked.
  24. in all fairness to the bloke he has asked a question on a forum that is supposed to be a place where you can do just that, ask a question (yes was lacking in some details), if you dont want to answer it then dont!! hes not forcing you into telling him hes just new to the game and looking for advice. didnt your parents say to you when you were younger "if you dont have anything nice to say........." to wired4smoke it will be hard too say wot too put on the job as there are so many varriables (how quick you are, wood staying, chip staying ect) i know its hard when your starting out im in the same boat luckily ive got some good mentors too ask if im not sure! next time try and get some pics/more details and you may get some better answers, good luck and i hope you get the job mate.
  25. nope not me then.
