Just saying as it is....how much processing power do you need for surfing, playing Youtube, spread sheets and the odd letter? Not much......a decent quad core chip, lots of RAM and a SSD disk......am I right?? I know it is a gift, no idea what the recent CPUs are but the more cores are better (Quad a minimum), RAM...more the better and an SSD disk, not sure the manufacturers will do anything but now! You can spend ££££ on perfomance you will never use...bit like giving the 84 year old mother in law an Aston DB9!!!

I am still using a 8-10 year old Fujitsu.....stuck the memory up to 8GB and the big game changer....SSD hard disk, that really made it wake up.....much faster boot than the old spinner. The long and short is that if you are not gaming or doing high intensive video or graphics, an old banger with a new SSD hard disk and lots of memory will do most of what is needed for most......the rest is marketing bollocks!!!

Very good, you will go far in life.......if fixing 2 strokes......nice tip on if the idle screw is almost completely out and the engine keeps running you may have an air leak!!

If the idle screw is turned fully in, it is no surprise turning the L screw has little effect. Probably best to set the L screw to around 2.5 turns out...I believe this is correct and then set the idle speed so the engine keeps running and the chain doesn't spin.

It is just an old rule of thumb, there will always be exceptions and views will always differ plus the chain type and kerf makes a big difference but it is round about right and gives some indication or a starting point for the uninitiated and that is all.

The relationship is the maximum bar length in inches is 1/3rd of the cc so 60cc is 20", 120cc is 40" etc. Generally, most will go for a smaller bar.....20" on a 70cc etc but this is just a basic rule.

As ADW said, you can pull them off but it makes adjustment very difficult. You could recut the slot in the plastic end with care - junior hacksaw or similar. You could just pull the ends and replace the limit caps

It is possible your neighbour didn't get planning permission to do his...stranger things have happened and some think planning for tree work etc somehow doesn't apply to them....or is it just round here Did you send pics to the planning department? They may have just got the wrong idea or just can't be arsed to look at the job in detail. If your neighbour has done his with planning, a precedence has been set and that usually means you should get planning permission. A polite appeal with images of the area and a plan drawn out with the positioning of drives, boundary and trees may help them rationalize. -

I believe that Father Christmas, the Christmas Fairies and the Reindeers have left Stihl and taken residence at Husqvarna Sweden hence the very positive result. I also believe that one of Santas helpers is a member on here Good result and thanks for the update.

At two weeks old, a good call....they may just replace the oil pick up pipe and send it back....it will be a warranty repair if found to be faulty.

The Chipper is on eBay as well and the guy has photographed his van number plate on both listings. It is a white transit....either he is a none too smart scammer, it is a fake plate or is legit. Payment is cash on collection....you may get the chipper but it may be stolen!

If it isn't under warranty, the leak will be from around the oil pickup pipe where it pushes through the oil tank wall. I usually put a small O ring on the union, degrease the area with brake cleaner, wipe a little liquid gasket around the pipe union and refit and then once the oil pump is in place, fit a small square of foam located over the top of the pickup pipe so the stainless plate pushes on it thus improving the seal. That usually does it!

If you do, try either or both of the ones I listed, they may not be the cheapest but they are both full bodied, full of flavour and smooth. The other tip is "19 Crimes" from Tesco....they are an interesting label but they are also damn good for the ££

Stalling is the key symptom of the solenoid failing. Fit the upgrade beige one with the new orange fuel filter. That will sort it! It should work, just push it in carefully so the O ring doesn't get damaged.
