  6. Plasticote - fast drying and pretty tough! The colour isn't 100% but close enough!
  7. Got the 064 and MS230 converted over to Aspen - new fuel lines, carb kit on the 064 and new O ring on a leaking fuel cap on the MS230 - all fine now. Started on another 357XP that is being ported on request, one of my saws. first one I tried had a badly smashed crankcase but this one is coming up pretty clean. Done all the prep work and clean up, the compression pre porting is a whopping 190psi so is nicely run in:thumbup: Just got the porting to do and the muffler mod and then back together! Rebuilt the side cover and sprayed it to smarten the saw up.

    I had a 353 in some time ago and TBH found it pretty flat compared to the 346XP albeit in ported trim, your narrow kerf is a good idea, you would probably get more out of it by reworking the transfers as I think they will be restrictive but for a back up saw to your others or for a bit of logging then it will be fine as it is!

Now theres a thought - think they used a charge of high explosive - be good in a car - James Bond like, I have had passengers I could have ejected at will - no sunroof though:blushing: Thats what I like on here - you come out with a comment and it lines you up for days of abuse in a comical sort of way:001_rolleyes::lol:

At work we have been through the previously mentioned manufactures and the one that stands out head and shoulders above the rest for fit, colour fastness and durabillity are Dickies - yup, they are by far the best! Ours are dark blue and despite wearing them every day, are still dark blue and are a nice non baggy fit, not stupid tight but just fit well with a slight taper down to the waist - sort of tailored. We have had Fruit of the loom and gildan and Dickies are far better. Some of the shirts sent over from the US were also damn good but will be harder to get hold of. We have typical Polo shirts for our company wear!

  16. Parcel Monkey, iPost, Myparceldelivery - all middle men brokers but that way you get better prices - it must be dry of fuel and boxed well - even then many are sniffy about engines, saws etc! Check the prohibitive items before booking!

  19. Take a break from my earlier post - the lever on the starting lever should force the choke flap in to the base of the airfilter closest to the carb and seal the carb back on cold start. If it isn't doing this then it could be the issue. Another issue is as I stated earlier - the throttle valve not being held open enough to let the engine burst in to life - I have seen this on an 038 Magnum before!
  20. To the parts list - http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/2062264/038-pl-pdf-july-12-2010-4-47-pm-446k?da=y it looks correct. The lever should open the choke in normal running. All you can do is to push the pictured base of the air filter in to place on the two carb mounting screws and make sure the choke is held fully closed in the cold start position and then it should open in the fast idle and normal running position. Check this out first!
  21. Bloody Ffffrrrreeeezzzzzing here in rainy Herts, fire going like a good un most nights. Even if it is warm during the day it gets a bit parkey from 8.30pm onwards. Got through 1 1/2 log stores of wood - usually only do one store a year, still it is all free:thumbup:

Pretty much as Barrie says - the choke needs to be fully sealed to get the first shot of fuel vapour in to the engine which is why you are pulling 50 - 60 times to get it working:blushing: Sort the choke out first. The other thing I have had in the past is that the fast idle starting position, doesn't open the throttle valve enough, this can make starting a PITA! Easy to see if you have this by getting the saw running and making sure the saw revs up to mid revs when on the fast idle position - if it doesn't then you can make up for any wear by bending the throttle linkage a little:thumbup: Just make sure that the linkage is loose in normal idle position!
