  1. Here is a typical MS200T that I get in for repair, missing AV, not running, no recoil rope or handle, no bolts holding the cover on, filthy dirty, rusted up clutch........ The first image is the before, the second and third are after - the saw has just been tached and runs and idles perfectly, nice job, good cost effective way of getting a damn good backup saw!
  2. Long handled pliers for pulling through fuel line, helicoil sets, tap and die set, ultrasonic cleaner, compressor, diamond burrs, dremmel, long reach sockets....... Someone stop me.....
  3. So you want to go ahead with the nitrous oxide injection system then:thumbup:
  4. No worries, as long as you are sorted:thumbup:
  5. Nice dirty pic Rich:thumbup: was hoping for something a bit more saucy - guess GK may have had a coronary if it had been:lol: Will check the one I have at home and see if it will work - think it came from a Robin strimmer, I also have a Shindaiwa one kicking around, that one may also fit but bear with me unless GK comes up trumps!
  6. Second that comment, crap website, great guys and service! Probably a Walbro TK, Rowena are agents for Walbro
  7. Need a top handle for a Stihl MS441 and also the lower filter cover - the one held on with four screws. The saw is a customers and looks like it has been dropped out of a tree or a tree has landed on it:blushing: The parts are available but wondered if a deal could be struck:thumbup:
  8. I always found the K series engine a little belter - 105 BHP from a 1.4 in those days was pretty good when 75bhp was the norm.... Anyway - I had a slow leak in mine many years ago and it turned out to be the inlet manifold - think it is heated by the coolant and is prone to leak - it will have a slow trickle down the back of the engine where the manifold bolts on to it - new gasket O ring seal sorted it.
  9. You know the long reach works but am doing Wills saws at the moment and I have a backlog - aiming for end of next week - one week turnover is pretty good in my books:thumbup:
  10. The last bit where the Skyline takes him on the corner and then the mobility scooter rips past him on the strait made me laugh out loud, sounds like a big four bike engine to me - it flies though!
  11. Wonder if the local dealer would have fixed your trimmer and MS200 in 2 hours flat.....think not:thumbup::lol:
  12. Well I have purchased Stihl parts from ebay and from a well known online parts agent - I did already have an account with the online parts stockinst but have had no issues in getting parts. The fact that other agents appear to know nothing about this policy gives me the impression that Stihl is targeting a small number of predominantly online sellers that are taking business from local agents - not sure how this stands legally
  13. Hey Rich - Did Barrie say "Nipple" in his post??? What a devil:lol::lol:
  14. Possible tank vent issue, try running it with the fuel cap loose next time it plays up otherwise it sounds like dirt in the carb or leaking needle valve etc.
  15. The ones that screw in to the cylinder are M6 and the ones on the support bracket are M5.
  16. Wonder if there is a beige velour interior with a strange looking square steering wheel option:lol: The V8 was a bit of a weapon in the day - slap the blues and twos on it and the 80s live again:lol:
  17. Thats not a bad seize at all, almost looks like carbon damage as the ring area looks pretty clean but am guessing the transfer has taken the rings out and lost compression. New rings and a cylinder clean up may have fixed it but would fit a decent piston if it was me:thumbup: Just shows what can be done, got a similar MS441 in, all in bits, the tank/handle needs replacing and the dealer quoted £400, I have spent under £100 on parts and a couple of hours should see it up nad running, guess the dealer just didn't want to do it but did they have to take the thing apart and leave it in bags to come to this decision.......Grrrrrrrr:001_rolleyes:
  18. Simple - anything that is free of charge and that includes boughs pulled out of ditches and the old conifer dropped off by guys I fix saws for. I have a lot of oak and mixed with a softer faster burning wood goes pretty well, Hawthorn is good if I can get hold of it, had a fair bit of elm which can be a mare to split as it is so hard but will burn anything that has been seasoned two years.
  19. Alright Jon - you've been quiet lately, not broken anything?
  20. Before we get intimate, can you count the number of splines the gearbox has, what largest size drill fits down the splined union and the diameter of the tube it fits, if that all looks good then I will bung a few photos up so you can check it out - saves any mistakes being made:thumbup: Oh Absolute 80s or a bit of heavy rock powers my repair shop:thumbup: I will send some moisturising cream for your dainty hands with the strimmer box:001_tt2:
  21. Hi Rich, I may be able to sort out a gearbox for you for a few beer vouchers, think I may have one that is OK in the collection. Recently had the recoil spring come out of the MS341 I was porting, Oh dear I thought - Rich had a real problem with his Stiga saw with its recoil. Lets just say I was listening to Absolute 80s and it took a massive three verses of Howard Jonses New Song to get it back in and working:001_tt2::001_tt2: Been on another MS200T - no high revs, US cleaner, bit of a tweak and a going over and all is looking lots better:thumbup:
  22. Good source of firewood for me - haul the boughs out of ditches, cut them up and in the back of the motor:thumbup: I hasten to add I don't take timber off others land without asking and usually ends up in a few beers in exchange:thumbup:
  23. Nope, it will only be on the front, next to the front AV mount, personally I would use it or go back through ebay and I have to say that their customer protection is pretty good on this sort of thing - it is the sellers who generally suffer!
  24. Very likely - a simple check is the carb adjustment holes in the side grommet will be close together and if you remove the cylinder, the transfer port is split on an MS200T and is one single port on the 020T! The fuel and oil caps are screw in on the 020T only!
