  14. Hi, why not place an add in arbtalk classifieds? you obviously use the site so how about a bit of "payback".. its not expensive!
  15. Alex , you don't say just where you are geographically. Hows your relationship with the Boss?? can you not have a discussion? It would be easy for myself to say jack it in - I'm not the one left without income afterwards! You could however be proactive on forums such as this one and ask for some freelance work. Gather your thoughts and determine just what you need to survive and fix your rate based upon that. Times are hard but most value good workers. Dont forget your worth isent just about the money. Reliability trustworthyness punctuality and conscientious attitude are all assets that you appear to be demonstrating. Finally re affirm your commitment to your current boss so he knows you will be happy with a rate of (X) per day and that if you get that you won't be thinking of leaving (assuming the conversation with him goes well) I wish you good luck in Gaining an increase mate.. Cheers Tony
  16. Hey Hodge, who are you insured with? i am only summising but isent that about 50k's worth of equipment insured for 1500?? Cheers Tony
  17. I have had limited experiance in this but this is what happens when I work for someone;- 1. I provide the person engaging my labour with my UTR Number. 2. He/She then "Verifies" this with HMRC who also tell him the percentage to deduct from my invoice. ( 20% in my case) 3. When i submit my invoice he makes the appropriate deduction, and issues me with a voucher stating earnings and deductions made. This covers me that the tax in relation to my invoice has been paid. I forward this to my accountant as part of my records. does anyone else identify with this system?
