  1. How did you get the plum to dry with stability? I've got some big lumps from a very old plum tree (beautiful figure too) that I've tried also res with and it either cups or cracks. Tree came down 3 years ago. Been 'drying' ever since. I've tried rough turning amd storing in shavings etc but no joy thus far!
  2. I managed a full pirouette this morning in the 130! Luckily I was doing less than 20 mph and could see it coming. Didn't stop me from parking it in the middle of a cross roads. Fortunately it was a very quiet country road (hence hadn't been gritted I guess).
  3. A 'free solo' is climbing without ropes. 'Free climbing' allows the use of gear and rope for back up, but if you fall (or put weight on the gear for that matter) you have to re climb the pitch for it to be a clean 'free climb'. Loads of jargon and terminology in climbing that confuses!
  4. Recently got myself a 560xpg with 18" bar and I'm really pleased with balance and performance. As has been mentioned it's an animal when snedding!
  5. Just got my hands on 4 giant lime burrs. Pics to follow.
  6. Paul your Facebook profile has been posting some interesting things this afternoon!! Anyone got hold of your phone/computer?!
  7. Can't imagine how tough that would be (saying goodbye).
  8. I've absolutely hammered my carbon geckos over the past 6 years or so, concrete, gravel you name it and they are still going strong. Tried on a pair of stein spikes few weeks back to compare. My word I was in pain they were so uncomfortable.
  9. Another big fan of the CT foot ascender here. As mark says the rope won't unclip itself unlike the petzl version.
  10. Si I'm regularly up in wraxall doing tree work (where I'm originally from!). If anything worth carving crops in the future up i'll give you a shout. Pete
  11. 😁 if theres big butts jon will sniff them out first!!!
  12. Who's that dodgy looking one on the left jon?! ;-)
  13. Wow ! The brackets are fantastic. What a great feature you have created.
  14. I am mate. Great to be 'home'. You enjoying yourself ?
