  10. It's funny how the excitement for birthdays and Christmases disappears when you get older, but the excitement and anticipation for the arb show builds up south you count the days to the event!! Love it!!! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. When I started out in tree work, doing logs saved my business. I remember waking up on a snowy January morning with 50 quid or so left in my business account and thinking that's it I've failed. I went outside to think things over, picked up the axe and started to take my frustration out on a pile of oak (that was destined for the local recycling centre). Got myself a little fire going next to the pile and before i knew it I had split about 4 loads!! Phoned a few customers who had previously asked if I did logs and before I knew it I had money again. It hasn't made me a fortune but it fills a gap very nicely. It's my little reminder to myself that there is always something you can do to turn it around. Keep it small and simple to start with. Don't sell your product cheap, and enjoy a very satisfying job - splitting firewood! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Any chance you could embellish this comment? I'm very interested to hear the details. Thanks Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. The towa gloves are awesome. The only gloves I've found give you a good feel for the task you are doing. I used to have splits, cuts and cracks galore in my hands but they stay clean and free from most wear and tear web wearing gloves. Saves washing that horrible black sap stain off after conny bashing too which is a bonus!! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  24. Kingston lacey is far to close for comfort. I shall be battening down the hatches regardless of them appearing to be moving on or not
  25. As someone who drives arb trucks with chippers or land rovers all the time... I by the very nature of the beast drive slower than most on the roads. My personal pet hate up there with tail gating and lane hogging is when people overtake you then immediately cut back in front of you at speed missing your front bumper by millimetres.... yes technically they are going faster than you and will be 2 miles down the road further than me in no time but its very dangerous, not to mention a major distraction (due to the shock and surprise of it).
