  1. keep thinking that ray mears is going to pop out and rub two logs together!
  2. so if you sell logs to a farm shop you should charge 20% not 5 % ? because they will sell it on?
  3. its 5% as long as its classed as logs or firewood, click on HM Revenue and customs webb page.

  5. so true this is why all this kiln dried bollox is a waste of time and a gimick. as soon as the moisture in the air is greater than that in the log that log sucks it up.
  6. as the thread says ,there seems to be such a stigma against poplar as a fire wood. and there seems to a push to promote soft wood as a fire wood for the future. i was just going to ask the question what would you rather buy a cube of poplar or a cube of soft wood...?

  8. i sell pallet boxes of poplar @ £80 for 1.6 cm loads so as a soft wood its slightly cheap mate,
  9. thats right you turn up at a new costomers with a half empty bag never mind it has what you stated in it, they always question it straight away. i always give mine a shake with the teleporter.

    no he has it just right, they are new special stoves that only run on poplar.
  11. wooooo get you! they claim you get 40 nets worth of logs in those 1.6 cm vented bags, some people have been buying them and netting them up and flogging them for £9 anet, so one of there reps told me.
  12. mate get ya sen around to a potatoe farmer or seed merchant they pay to dispose of them!
  13. you get about £30 for every £230 big bulk bag as a dealer for them.

  15. i called into a well known petrol station the other day and had a nose at there nets of logs at £6 and noticed wait for it a pallet block in the nett with the logs, the logs im sure were either poplar or pine although it didnt smell .
  16. do you charge less for bigger logs?
  17. remember the customer is always right!!
  18. is that seasoned? does the logs have to be split? how do you define bulk "bag"is that 1.cm bag or 1.4 cm bag?
