  10. the saw was used 5 days a week almost for 4 years befor the exhuast coked up. and all our other saws are older than that and theres been no problems wit them. i just tend to stick to the stihl oil as its all ive ever used dont knock the ms170 (wink) its a good saw for snedding out by the chipper(meens you dnt have to give your workers your expensive ms260)
  11. me lol
  12. the mixture is perfect using the stihl mixing cup we mix 20l at a time witch is 4 cups full.. and its the red stihl 2 stoke oil (cant remember what its called)
  13. my governors saw coffed every time you touched the throttle and didnt scream like ms200's do, it also cut out alot. turned out that the exuast was sotted up and the outlet gap inside was about a quarter of the size is should have been.. we cleaned it out and now it runs like a new saw... and screams as it should. if anyone trys this make sure you heat up the screws that hold the exhaust together befor trying to undo them, (or they have a habit of snapping)
  14. hi all. first of all let me tell you a little bit about me i have been workiing for a couple of arb companys in buckinghamshire for round about a year and a half now after leaving school i was at work the next day, i have just started an arb apprentiship at moulton collage in northhampton (got a taste of the out door work way as a young boy and cant get enough). i orgialy went to collage to study music technology but after deciding it was a dead end as i enjoyed arb so i knock it on the head. i am hard working and will graft for my money without moaning. i currently dont have any tickets (too expensive to sit just at the monent on my wage packet). i can provide you with a reference if one is required. unfortunatly jan til round about march is very quite for the small companys ive worked for so am in the need of more work in the diary. please get back to me if any of you can help me i also have my own ppe
  15. good value for money,, but id rather buy a stihl or husky tho as spares are 5 mins up the road whenever i need them which = less down time... makita spares take days to come through and are a pain in the arse to get hold of...
  16. water, red bull... and hope the customers supply tea unless i no were not doing domestic gaeden work
  17. think all us small companies are quite this time of year... jan till april is the worst just to warn you
  18. yh im one of them self employed subies working for a small firm that dnt get paid,, and the worst thing is,, i dnt no wheather work is cancalled untill 30 mins befor i leave home to get to the yard so i dnt have time to book in a days work for another company
  19. the problem with most of these saws u buy from screwfix or anywere like that is the ease of getting spares like stihl and husky.. i no if someit goes with my saw, i drive 2 mins up the road to briants, get my part (because they stock everything) go bk to the job, and carry on for rhe day...
  20. what hinge?
