every climber ive come across wears hiax protector pros including me. they are relly comfy providing very good support, they also last a long time.
  2. heres what i do, tension the chain till its just slightly slack, tighten the nuts so everythings on properly,, runs ur saw up reving up and down 4 2-3 seconds, stop your saw and the chain will normaly feel lose again so slacken the nuts and tweek it up again. this time it should stay the correct tension.... i did have a problem with the bar nose sproket once where it jammed up, at first i though it was the clutch on my saw but then relised what it was. hope this is some help
  3. agreed, we chopped the work freelander in for a disco
  4. what about a cheap defender 90 or a discovery?
  5. well it was ok for pulling our timberwolf two150.. as one of the other guys said there burn the clutch quite quick for hillstarts and i think a two 190 like urs would kill it

  7. please not,,, if u change oil the 2 will solidify in ur take... stick to the normall stihl oil,,, theres no point changing in my opinion
  8. alright there mate,, i started off just laboring for the passed 18 months,, you know, chipping, brush dragging,, tool maintanance, clearing up that sort of thing,, as i was working i would watch how the climbers did things and if i didnt know why they were doing somthing i would ask, after working hard for 18 months my governor agreed to take me on as an apprentise through moulton collage, but the key eliment to getting your foot in the door somewere is to work hard, show your dedication for the job, learn the right practises, work saftley being aware of hazards and your surrondings,, and last but not least, be reliable and dont let people down
  9. moulton,,, all the guys there were comercial climbers and surveyers,,, the collage is simply briliant, nice area and the tutors are ace and relly know there stuff... so i give moulton 5/5 thumbs up
  10. i agree very much,, i pick the ms260 up at work after using my 346xp and its like... hmm stihl what have you done... its soo slugish,,, but saying that, stihl have just brought out the ms261
  11. 357xp for felling mate..
  12. 346xp ive got and i love it,, depends wether its for snedding more than felling or felling more than snedding
  13. i agree with you 100% owning both saws i love my husky 346xp
  14. look at the husky 346xp,, it is so much more of a better saw than the ms 260.. i have both. tho the ms 260 is a blady good saw and wont let u down mins is 10 years old and has been used daily

  17. personaly i wouldnt touch any of there new tools, they were a good company untill they were sold of, but i supose it depends what u use them for, alright around the garden, but no good for everyday use

    Modding?

porting is only relly used in the forests in america,, good for forestry, pointless for tree surgery of fire wod or anything less than forestry
  21. i use a filling guide, but for the rackers after every 3-4 sharpens i give each racker1-2 files, n my saw cuts beautifly, its chucks out lumps of 4 by 2 and still gives a smooth cut
