Never heard of it, but made by Lincoln I don't think you can go far wrong.

Can someone tell me why my welding is so rubbish?

14% argon is what’s called a ‘heavy’ welding gas mix. It’s for welding thicker steels, it lets you get the heat into it more easily with greater penetration. If you’re used to 5% gas it’s remarkable the difference it makes- your dial positions pretty much end up swapping over, with more wire feed than voltage for once. I keep a bottle at the yard mainly for site work, welding RSJs and the like. It’s not really what you want for a thin mower deck, and it also gives a much messier weld with more splatter than 5%. go on, treat yourself to a bottle of the good stuff. It’s just a deposit and then the price per fill. Get your deposit back when you decide you don’t need the bottle anymore. -

Be careful as the disposable cans are usually just co2 which is not the best shielding gas. It’ll give you a similar messy result a lot of the time. if you want a decent job especially on shitty thin metal then you need a 5% argon mix. -
There’s a world of difference between a 1.9t and 2.5t digger. Whatever you do, if you do go with a 1.9t, spec short dipper. Otherwise you will be out of lift on the main boom before you start- which means you try to lift with the dipper, putting the load further away from you. I can’t stress this enough. The standard UK spec long dipper is totally the opposite of what you need for lifting things into the air. The Yanmar shown below with a grab perfectly illustrates this. He’s out of lift on the boom before the grab is even off the ground. Below are my two. Both ultimate spec with every option. The e19 with short dipper and a speciality light grab and rotator. I’d still only take the e19 over the e27 if there wasn’t access. Its simply painful to use over the e27. Try both before you decide. With the right truck/trailer combo and possibly putting the grab into the truck for transport you can be squeaky clean past vosa.

It’s simple. It’s because you’re using flux core. flux core is nothing more than an auto feed arc welder. You will have all the same problems repeatedly striking and arc, of putting enough power into it to penetrate rusty metal without blowing through. So you set it lower to not blow through and you’re surprised when your welds are crap. Get yourself down your local motor factors and get a bottle of sgs or hobbyweld rent free 5% mig gas. basically until you strike the arc and start burning, the flux isn’t burning off the give your weld protection. There’s always a delay when staining the arc and the protection is nothing like the surround of gas from a mig shroud either. Because you have to keep stopping and starting your welds are crap. Using a proper mig, the gas is always protecting your welds, so you can start, stop just before blow through, wait a split second for the red hot glow to dissapate and then go again, all whilst protecting the weld with gas. -
Post this in a thread in the machinery section. This is a blog. if you’re on foot pedals for both you will probably find you can be gentle enough on the controls that it’s not an issue. Otherwise a little inline restrictor is all you need. Barrel type are very neat inline on hose runs- although fiddly to adjust they only need doing once. Or on the male/male fittings between hoses and the couplings you can get them with a pinhole in the middle which you drill out until you are happy with flow.

Just burn the nylock out, much easier.

M24 is the perfect size to add a couple of gym weights as counterweights on your Skidster. Use the existing holes at the sides on the back.
-
Yes pretty much. Very smooth.
-
I use it all the time- you get used to using it in conjunction with the regular joystick controls.

Way more reach and also more lifting power close in. Great for working uphill- something which is torture in a normal digger as they are designed just to dig. For groundworks you can close the swing radius right up for tight jobs. It’s in no way as good as a timber crane for moving timber but its a lot better than a normal digger. Controls are standard iso with the tab boom and offset controls on foot pedals.

Is that the grx20? I have the grx25 on the jcb86c. Sat in the E27 with TG16 grab today to shift some timber into the mill and it felt like a toy 🤣 I borrowed the chainsaw holder from the E19 the other day and grabbed a couple of U bolts that looked about right. It worked a treat, looks like I will need to remake one for the e19! im loving the tab boom on this. It’s a savage amount of digger for 29k with 380 hours. Honestly feels like a new machine in the pins. Somewhat less shiny than yours though!

Charge what it’s worth to you and go from there. Most likely you will underprice. Don’t stay a busy fool, put your rates up as soon as you have consistent work.

First couple of days on site and I’m already thinking I should have bought a 13 tonner! TAB boom is wicked useful. Tracking is gutless, it’s three and a half times the weight of an E27 but less than half the horsepower and it shows! Flow shares nicely though and gets the job done. On to some lighter scrub pulling next which it should be ideal for. I’m very impressed just how dexterous the Intermecatto GX25 is for such a big grab.

Trump coming out swinging with a flurry of executive orders from the get go! Some of my favourites: “ Unvaccinated federal workers As part of a directive reversing Biden-era policies, Trump revoked a mandate that federal workers must be vaccinated with the Covid vaccine. He has promised to reinstate the 8,000 military service members who were discharged due to the Pentagon's Covid vaccine mandate - with full backpay. Diversity and gender Transgender people Trump issued an executive order declaring that the US will only recognise "two sexes, male and female. These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality." The order will affect transgender policy regarding government communications, civil rights protections and federal funding, as well as prisons. It will affect official documents like passports and visas. DEI In the same executive order, Trump ended all government programmes, policies, statements and communications that promote or support "gender ideology". In a separate executive order, he halted all "diversity, equity and inclusion" (DEI) programmes within the federal government. The order is called "ending radical and wasteful government DEI programs and preferencing". The order covers all federal agencies and includes those that get federal grants, or have federal contracts.” Up to date list here: What executive orders did Trump sign on day one? WWW.BBC.CO.UK The Republican quickly set about using his new powers to approve executive actions on a host of policy priorities.

I prefer this type. Can dispense as well as extract and come with nozzles for filling car gearboxes etc. 6L Pneumatic Transmission Fluid Pump Oil Refilling Transfer Pump Oil Extractor WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Function --- This multi-purpose automatic transmission fluid (ATF) extractor and dispenser uses vacuum... I would pull your filter and double check the number on it. Only takes a minute. They could well have changed the filter housing between your model and my fairly recent model.
-
No. Just sell it roadside.
-
I use an airline powered vacuum extractor. You can get 12v ones cheaply that should work well on warm engine oil. Pretty sure the filter is every 500 hours, I certainly wouldn’t be doing it every six months. Hours matter, ages doesn’t really. It’s only going to degrade/block up whilst oil is being pushed through it. I did mine the other day, I’ll check my eBay history and post a link. It’s a Donaldson P171502

The main drawback is the legality of it. Legally if they work directly under your instruction then they should be part time paye. that said, everyone seems to do it and get away with it.
-
Whilst I agree with your sentiment especially re security, this isn’t America with tons of public land anyone can take a rifle or bow on to hunt. let’s be realistic, any form of legal ‘feeding yourself from hunting’ in this country requires more than a small degree of privilege- either paying for shooting rights or being chummy enough with large landowners.

Agree re avant, but we are talking about pedestrian mini skid steers. Where the operator is the counterweight. Remove the operator and they are front heavy.
-
I bet everyone on here tracks a tracked chipper up a ramp standing behind it without thinking about it? The thing is, mini loaders are a lot more twitchy than a tracked chipper. The 13hp models can also run out of steam loading in reverse up a ramp with a heavy operator on them. That's then super dangerous because if you stall it you have no engine braking and it will run away back down the ramp. Ideally you would use long ramps on a low trailer. For the more adventurous who wish to load into a transit- standing behind it is the most controlled method in my experience.

Going up forwards is easy so long as you don’t stand on the machine. reversing up feels worse.
