  1. Mine was similar, looked like new after 500 hours. With the volume of oil in them and running at relatively low pressure through a little 13hp driven gear pump, the oil is far less stressed than a similar volume running through a triple piston pump on a 20hp mini digger, regardless of how hard we think we are beating the machines 🤣
  2. Am I the only person who keeps half a dozen 5l cans of mixed 2t petrol and refills them all at the garage at the same time? same with neat petrol but 10 litre cans rather than 5.
  3. I didn’t think there was any other way people did it!
  4. I’ve used the same dispenser bottle for four x 5l bottles now. They do last.
  5. To be fair it's rarely in my account, but a good line of credit is as good as cash to a dealer- they get their bank transfer either way. It's definitely abused, and super low interest rates for nigh on twenty years is a major reason the country is in such a mess, with vastly inflated asset prices. However, finance has been good for me to grow- I could never have done it without it. You can always sell stuff on finance, you just have to settle the finance before you can receive any balance.
  6. Out with the log bullet again. By God it was a hot day! I hasten to add that I had nothing to do with the cutting or presentation of this timber!!! A very trying day- lorry should start shifting that pile Monday and I can get the other half done. &nbsp
  7. bloody hell, that was you too? You're splashing the cash currently! Hows the E27 working out, any teething issues? There's always a leak with a new Bobcat! What was the price again in the end? What's the plan for the skidsteer element of the 8MRC then, big grab for shifting timber/brash on site clearance?
  8. You don’t negotiate by offering cash! You negotiate by saying ‘unless you sharpen your pencil I will buy this brand instead’. Or you say, ok, but only if you throw in extra warranty and five years free finance. there is always a deal to be done on new kit. Salesmen have quotas to meet. Interestingly, this also leads on to cheaper secondhand prices more directly than one might imagine. They’ll take the customers old machine in as a trade in and then rather than sell it again with profit (which would not count towards their sales quota) they’ll sell it to a secondhand dealer for negligible profit, if any. Theres a guy near me who buys a lot like this. He doesn’t need to make silly money and his stuff is always fairly priced- never hangs around long.
  9. You can’t run dinosaur equipment on grabs, tree shears and the like though, which I suspect is what @JLA1990wants to do. Mecalac are very much a specialist, premium brand. I’m surprised they are having this much trouble, especially with a hitch which is an integral part of them machine- they developed it and have the patent on it.
  10. I had to read that twice. Are you seriously trying to use money laundering regulations as an excuse for your poor negotiating skills? 😂 Bobcat wanted 37k for an E27 during Covid. I told them to swivel. Post Covid it’s 35k. Down to 32.5k after I presented prices of 31k for cat and yanmar and told them that’s where my money was going otherwise. And then got a five year warranty added free too. Free interest over two years. A member in here (arb digger thread) even more recently bought the same model for a grand cheaper still. Buyers market. CNH now have a tie up with a Eurocomach. Premium machines, previously brought into the uk in very limited numbers by Robustrack. They look nice. Hopefully one day they will do a 2.7t with a tab boom- they already do a 1.9t with one.
  11. Wheeled or tracked? Tab boom?
  12. I ignored your first two posts. You clearly have no idea how many machines I run or buy and sell. You’re just making yourself look a fool mate. You haven’t a clue how the industry works. I’ll spell it out for you and the benefit of others. Hitachi are a unique case where they sell into the UK manufacturer direct. It doesn’t keep their prices high- hitatchi are easily the cheapest Japanese make out there. Good (albeit basic) very reliable machines- kept cheap by a lack of dealer overheads. They hold very limited stock at any time. I’ll be you it’s not a years wait in the current climate either. Everyone other brand has dealers. Who are forced to hold a certain amount of stock to keep their dealership. There are no waiting lists at dealers any more. Covid premium for both new and secondhand machines has disappeared. The bolshy ‘take it or leave it’ attitude of dealers has also disappeared, to be replaced by special offers, free finance and extended warranties. You don’t sound like you’ve ever bought a new machine. Haggling has always been a part of it- it was just that during Covid you couldn’t expect to get anywhere as there was no stock and a lot of demand. Completely the opposite now. New Holland for example force their agri dealers to hold some construction stock. For three years now a very large tractor dealer has been trying to sell a dozen minis. They started at 22k, as this is what new Holland had as the rrp regardless of them being available from Hyundai at 17/18k. I had a good chat with the salesman about it when I dropped in to collect some parts for my new Holland backhoe. They have now been trying for four months to flog an unused 2023 model at 15k. The same machine in Hyundai branding was 14k back in 2017! I know because I bought one at the time. Log into Facebook WWW.FACEBOOK.COM Log into Facebook to start sharing and connecting with your friends, family, and people you know. so yes, it is a buyers market currently. Not just on new machines- go look at the auction results for secondhand values- even on fresh, low hour machines.
  13. To be fair, the mecalac hitch is very very specific to mecalac! now I know what machine it is I would persevere if it’s the right machine for what you need.
  14. NICE! welcome to the club. They are leagues ahead of a sany particularly when it comes to large lumps and hillsides. I’ve watched a hired sany struggling on the same hillside that the e27 romped up.
  15. It sounds like it’s going to be a pup. And you’ve not put any money down? Thank your lucky stars and walk away. What brand was it? It’s a buyers market at the moment for both new and used.
  16. Get over youself mate. Bugger off and spunk your 7k on a new walk behind flail to do a piss poor job of mowing a 4ft strip (why???) around your hobby hay field. If it's senseless to have two engines running, it's even more senseless to spend 7k to burn double the fuel cost of a trqactor you already have to cut a quarter of the speed with more effort. You're clearly not Einstein, but surely even you can work out that a pedestrian flail with 15 or whatever hp is going to be about the same as a Logic flail with the same..... I've owned and used both machines you ask about and both are shite compared to even a basic compact tractor and topper.
  17. For 7k he’d get a small alpine tractor and topper! Way more fun.
  18. So get a 4ft topper 🤣 a ride on mower with a rear discharge deck would do what you want too.
  19. 7k will get you a good secondhand compact tractor along with a topper. Twice the width cut, three times the speed, four wheel drive and a seat to sit on. You’d be mad to buy the scag for that job. im presuming you don’t already have a tractor and use contractors to mow?
  20. No flail will work well on long grass, even with y knives rather than hammers. if it’s predominately grass you want to cut then I’d get a rotary. I’d also get a compact tractor and topper rather than a scag. They are silly money for what they are. are you looking to buy new or secondhand?
  21. yes, one needs to spend on a decent brand bench sharpener, the cheap ones are a waste of money. Even on the oregon ones I replace the plastic depth stop with a bolt with a rounded off head for a more positive stop.
  22. I’d say 3k cash a very fair price.
  23. Way more money in being a service engineer! Much less effort too. Are you really ready to start at the bottom of a career again?
