  1. The outside will heal quicker just make sure you give it time to fully heal before working it.
  2. As usual leave well alone until you have spoken to the tree officer but it may be in the new year.
  3. If your friend owns the land he should be aware of any TPO's. Its very unlikely you will get hold of a tree officer before next week due to shut down over christmas period.(Hope this is what you are on about).   4. Would be good to see close ups of how they work as opposed to seeing you fly around if possible. A few questions as well Do you use another anchor friction device on the rope(prussic/another) when doing work close to the stem? I cant get my head around the levers being pressed when working very close to limbs

    As I keep bees I have been making some candles to keep the missus happy. Getting fed up eating all the time dreading trying to fit in my harness lol
  6. I climb with gill fingerless gloves. Had them just over a year and still wash up as good as new.
  7. when you say small tree what diameter are you talking about?
  8. Its probably because you are just climbing the tree rather than working in it. Your mind is occupied a lot more when actually cutting in the tree. I find myself thinking damn its a long way down sometimes, but as soon as the saw is going I forget about it. Try setting yourself a task if just climbing like get to a certain tip of a branch then on to another task it may help you to stop worrying.
  9. Probably a dog tooth cut used for leaning trees to stop it splitting up the trunk (aka barbers chair)

  12. oak is good but leave it in the house at least a week before laying or you may end up having to re-lay it, due to the moisture content changing.

  19. Well I have had our traditional sandwich off our christmas bird, now on our second bottle of wine, then once my daughter has gone to bed sort out the presents if I can still see straight. Have a great christmas all
