  1. I suppose you have to cope. There will be a "What if" situation for every option. What if you and your pal both knock each other out? No experience of the Spot jobby, just know a few estates up north use them for their stalkers. Its better than nothing
  2. Anyone been using them? What do we think, especially in A.
  3. I'd have thought the same! Not many folk can afford any sort of harvester round here, we just don't have enough of that kind work. To be honest mate I'd be happy enough on a Tonka Truck
  4. Like as not, was sort of hoping it would be someone local though, could do with some proper machine work before I go and do my tickets in the winter.
  5. Someone just drove past my house with a JD 1270E on the back. In Sandbach (Cheshire). Anyone know of people running that sort of gear round here? Sam
  6. Sod the spalding Janey, he felled that with a 020T
  7. Quite right. "An inch at the bottom is worth a foot at the top" is very much true. Most valuable timber is at the bottom of the tree, so it pays to cut low
  8. Hi all, I'm in Llanidloes from the 8th-16th, doing some work for a friend. There is a good chance I will have a couple of spare days at least if anyone wants some help. Pretty cheap labour, with own saw etc. if needed. Will cover anywhere in the attached map circle (maybe further). Quals CS30/31. Level 2 & 3 (Sub) Diploma Forestry & Arb. First Aid @ Work. DMQ1. 9. "Awww I done a whoopsie in my Hi-flex"
  10. So can't pick his nose
  11. Homosexual vest:001_tt2: Tighty brighty's anyone?
  12. I think we should revoke their independence, its been a good little game while it has lasted, but it's starting to wear thin now. John, is it you? He speaks like you type
  13. I'm joking mate. It looks too pimped for me
  14. Buy yourself a Bullman-esq throwing axe. Talking to the next door but one farmer this morning, apparently someone tried to break in to his place a early morning on sunday. His son ran out of the house with a starting pistol (gun dogs) firing blanks in the air, soon got them moving :L
  15. That's the sort of service that makes you a moderator
  16. No they don't have cut protection. Who actually uses "proper" chainsaw gloves though? £10 from Northwest farmers. Used them fencing today as well, still impressed. Price wise I get through a pair of "builder" (Towa type) every two weeksish. They cost £3.50, so if the Stihls last 6 weeks they are not doing bad.
  17. HELL NO. Unless they are old and nice, or female, young and pretty.
  18. Who'd have thought it. Stihl can make something other than saws that works! had a pair of "Carver" gloves for about two/three weeks now and I'm really impressed. They were expensive, about £10, but worth it. Good grip even when there wet, nice and cool, good velcro strappy bits, and a nice tight fit so easy to tie ropes etc. Don't look that tough, the curse of stihl gear, but we shall see Pretty impressed though, cooler than the "builder" type gloves I tend to wear.
