  1. Have you seen Cegga's axes chief?
  2. Done that with a roe buck. Not nice. Fences are only part of true management
  3. Try CCI in the .22
  4. More importantly, Cheshire is in the northwest on that map
  5. Right. Let me clarify my position a little. Deer In scotland the rules do not specify a calibre, I quote; "For roe deer, where the bullet must weigh at least 50 grains AND have a minimum muzzle velocity of 2,450 feet per second AND a minimum muzzle energy of 1,000 foot pounds may be used." A .223 with the correct load can fit this. By my remark "Its legal and it will do it, if not my cup of tea." I mean that shooting roe deer with a .223 is not something I would wish to do based on my previous experience of this calibre/beast combination. I think they lack the killing power (or Knock out value) compared to more suitable rounds available. However .223s have killed many beasts of all sizes across the globe (A friend of mine doing three captive water buffalo last week sticks in mind). Other You can legally use a .223 for any creature if you have "All other legal quarry" as a reason to posses said gun on your FAC. This makes it (IMO) a rival to the 17HMR, rimfire magnum and other such calibres. My point ".223 - Rabbits -> Roe" is trying to show the versatility of the round in comparison to said rimfire/small bore rounds. I hope this helps, I don't mean to appear how I do sometimes Sam
  6. Dirty heathens north of the border
  7. Its legal and it will do it, if not my cup of tea.
  8. My .243 was a while ago. But its pointless comparing, .223 - Rabbits -> Roe 10 ->450m .17HMR - Rabbits -> Hares.
  9. Ah cool nae danger chief

  13. Steady on mate!
  14. Some places are at £1.47 a litre here! Can Steve make a Northern forum that we can just moan about the price of flat caps, whippets, pies and everything else?
  15. Are you the 346 fan club?
  16. But that would be practical and high quality? Its not like your paying a grand for it or anything, what do you expect?
  17. Me too! Plus I have nowt to spend on things other than diesel at the moment.
  18. Its a good saw. Fair few softwood cutters like them but the new 346 is a more modern saw. I like my 346, but a 357 is a better all rounder I think, if there is such a thing.
  19. They like moaning more than spending money
  20. .22LR is good to 100m if you know what your doing. And no, I don't shoot that distance. .17s are a fashion/fad thing, they are too expensive for what they do in my case. A ton a night is standard from a Kubota with a three man team, keep changing your filters and you can get away without NV. Just me on foot/quad 50-75 depenndign on ground. Thats 10pm-1am or something like that. If I want more fun then set up in a little valley with .223/.22-250 varmint grenades and splat from afar. Can kill anything up to a 100 on the right day
  21. Impressive spooning
