  1. Unless there’s a decent lorry load to collect it wouldn’t be worth a firms time and costs to transport a single tree. Would also need to be roadside with easy access and machinery to load it in lengths. If someone local with a use for it could collect you may get lucky. It’s also not the greatest firewood but you may be able to offload it via Facebook sales, gumtree etc to recoup some costs
  2. Haix protector pro here - but I don’t climb much these days leaving that to the younger fitter guys.
  3. Trouble is that everyone’s feet are different so what suits one will not suit another. I’ve got really wide feet and have real problem getting any type of footwear that fits properly so rarely buy online. Others have standard feet and can easily get them to fit comfortably
  4. I had the Portek kinetic one and hated it so sold it on. Very hard on the wrists and hands. Currently have a Clarke 5.5 ton vertical which is ok but slow. Tend to favour the fiskars x25/27 most of the time but it’s hard manual work and not viable for big quantities
  5. Trouble is working on it yourself or a mechanic doing it could void any warranty
  6. At four hours use I’d be taking it back to the supplying dealer unless there’s an obvious foreign obstruction?
  7. A mate of mine, ex forces is 83 and will lose his winter fuel payment. Only just over the pension credit threshold but lives in a privately rented studio flat. The rent hasn’t increased in 11 years thankfully but in all those years the only time the gas central heating has been on has been when the engineer services the boiler. No double glazing, solid brick walls - so cold in the winter but he’s a stubborn old git! I’ve already told him I’ll give him the lost fuel payment if he turns the heating on low at least 👍
  8. The trap man on eBay has some good quality stuff 👍
  9. If you modify it yourself it’ll need checking by a suitably qualified workshop to sign off the build before some companies will quote. Found this when I did my previous truck body. Only NFU specified this but I’m sure others will as well
  10. Got stung four times today - they were in a pampas grass I was cutting back 😡 Loads of ant powder unleashed at them and going back tomorrow late evening to pour some more there. Hopefully that’ll do for them as we can’t even rake the garden up till they’re gone
  11. Pics of the whole tree would help as well. Are there any fruiting bodies or brackets of fungus? Missing bark on the trunk? Someone with more knowledge than me will hopefully be along soon 👍
  12. Speckled hen whilst waiting for roast beef to come out of the oven and the dog enjoying his carrot 🥕
  13. Blimey. - a Welshman’s wet dream! 😂
  14. Add yourself to the tip site, make yourself a better proposition than anyone else in your area ie, yea, biscuits, beer tokens etc
  15. My initial thoughts would be - has a neighbour taken a dislike to them? Either intentionally poisoning, or maybe washing paths/patio with harsh chemicals? I’ve also lost a few and suspect the second reason. A toxicology report on trees/soul may help but wouldn’t be cheap. Or maybe just too dry?
  16. Wow that’ll be old then - pre 1990 at least so parts could well be hard to find! Best of luck 👍
  17. Three pans of damson jam on the go this evening. Made 9lbs last week which has come out lovely - set better than last years so the pectin content obviously varies naturally. Should get about 30 jars out of this lot today 👍
  18. The rain was a blessing in that respect- the little buggers weren’t about 👍 There was serious amount of movement in it but all down safely and going back in the week to chip it up
  19. Morning all - wet here so shelving the planned grass cuts. Got this little bugger to get down instead - dead ivy covered castlewellan in imminent danger of taking out the fence and falling into neighbours garden 👍
  20. Old thread resurrection - bringing down a pollarded one tomorrow maybe 15” if memory serves me right. Can cut into liftable sections - limited access to remove it if anyone interested? Happy to swap for nice dark beer 🍺 chelmsford based
  21. Nice straight grained sycamore yesterday and this morning before the heat got too much for me. The winter 2025 store is almost full - another four barrow loads and I’ll be done 👍 All split using X25
  22. Sehr lecker 👍
  23. Yeah I loved his videos - shame he stopped posting on here. perhaps I should have watched that vid before posting 😂😂 should quantify that I loved his machinery vids!
