  1. Apparently male wrens make 6 or 7 nests to present to their lucky mate to choose, and we thought we had a hard time.
  2. Not for long I fear, he was saying on the news that he might run for leader again in September, which is nice.
  3. Although we are all banging the same heads against the same people, on the subject of cheating the system surely tax avoidance is shafting the economy just as perniciously as Mr 50 kids and his flat screen telly (as seen on channel 5 and read about in the sun). Anyway stihl or husky, which is best. And can I run my fiesta on red diesel cos I'm a tree surgeon.
  4. Yes, that proper winds me up, that is an example of those that feel entitled, however hopefully that is only a tiny percentage of total appointments.
  5. Milk of human kindness really flows out of you eh?
  6. Seriously? Would you prefer a USA style health service? So if you break your leg you stoically soldier on with stiff upper lip rather than turn to what should be our proudest institution.
  7. As I said they all balls up sooner or later,! Did your business boom around that time? I know a lot of old tree surgeons that had a ball over that period
  8. But if you had to through no fault of your own I don't think you should be treated as some sort of social leper, I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford sickness/accident insurance, but I don't think any less of someone that would have to rely fully on the safety net we have in this fantastic country
  9. Things always carry on pretty much as they are, sooner or later they balls up one way or another, regardless of which party, things were good under labour late 90/early 20. If the conservatives take us out of Europe I think it will be their big bollock drop, I fully expect to get scorn poured on me, just my opinion.
  10. Don't think it's arguing about the outcome of the vote as such, just venting about the party that won, in the same way their supporters are banging on with relish about their victory, the joys and woes of democracy
  11. Yep, scapegoating the sick and unemployed, after all they did cause the recession! These arguments go round and round on here, think there are polar opposites politically on AT, rabid right wing or Trotskyist reds! Any lib dems in the house?
  12. Yeah I get that but don't you have almost the same costs just subyying? Ie insurances/rent/vehicles still need feeding regardless if your working for your self or subyying for a week
  13. Where I'm going wrong?? It works for me and I'm happy I have some decent ish kit and getting more, I ain't on the breadline.
  14. Of course you can offer advice/ suggestions, but if they want it gone get it on the deck. ( I've walked away from a couple of jobs over the years, but hey were exceptional trees).
  15. Weren't you working for £100 a day?
  16. Me and my lad went and reduced a birch today, £330, home by one o clock, £70 for his wages, £50 costs/etc.So made a bit of profit and was able to pick my boy up from school and enjoy life, I could easily run on £ 1650 a week. Some times it's more often it's less. Works for me.
  17. Nice one, makes a nice change from the chuck em through the chipper brigade
  18. I voted Green. But Tories will limp in with their whipping boy coalition partners
  19. Same here, that's a hell of a lot of foliage to lose so early coming to full leaf, but yes, better than a fell
  20. This winter coming if I was you
  21. Gonna nurse it with a nice Merlot in a minute
  22. Nursing this godawful hangover by the look of it, got a bit over excited at the thought of three days off!
