  1. Victron are probably the best but expensive, for a trailer battery I'd just get a cheap panel from eBay and wire it direct to the battery, it's only there to keep it 'topped-up'.
  2. That isn't strictly true MrJohnson, there are plenty of good people who are PC's, past and present. Didn't you once tell me, "I'd be better off in the tent pissing out rather than outside the tent pissing in".?
  3. What gives you this assumption?, the last cash job I had was months ago, 95 quid for a domestic drain block, most everyone I work for pay me by transfer.I wish it was your way.
  4. Yes they will, my motorhome started it's life as a 7.5T commercial vehicle and taxed as such. It's now classed as a motor caravan on the V5, and taxed differently.
  5. Still here mate, give me a bell ya Tosser.
  6. Never realised you was missing...
  7. Nothing to do with ambition, you put through enough to make it legit, if you can get away with a bit extra so be it, Pound notes win every day, shame I couldn't get more work paid in cash.
  8. The idea someone would get paid cash and start shuffling about bank accounts to get taxed on that cash.
  9. *****
  10. Why?, if someone pays you in cash, (rare for me these days) stick it in the hidey hole for laters.
  11. You'd want to be, wouldn't ya?
  12. Bang on again Mr Johnson, pay and be paid, or do for a turn.
  13. 4 days for 2 blokes at £300?, the country's gone mad.
  14. Nope, most of my work is for a well respected farther and son set up.
  15. I give up.
  16. Connecting a new build bungalow to the original house rather than dig the road up to get on the main, problem was it was right opposite my boss' sisters house on a weekend, and I was using a water authority van.
  17. Leave it out, I work as a freelancer for one company on a day rate, I base that on a ten hour day. I worked 17 hours one day last month, you don't think I want paying more for that day? yes it is nice to get away early or get a late start but how often does it happen when you are subbing?
  18. This is my experience, one family have dominated the local PC for years until a few outsiders moved in 20+ years ago, neither them or the newcomers get the work. Most cases in life it's who you know, not what you know, don't work like that with PC's around this way.
  19. No but I used to drink with Old Tom and even he couldn't swing it for me.
  20. Not so, the ex Mrs Egg was on the parish council, I never got one job I quoted. They'd probably heard about my reputation mind.
  21. Me too. Give me pound notes over any other sort of payment and I'm most happy, everyone paying by phone, I ask ya.
  22. Am I the only one who doesn't understand this?
  23. Right, that's me, I'm off down to the local pub for lunch.
  24. Yes it is trying to get back to work mode. I hate working, not the job I do, just the fact that I have to do it. I've much better things to do with my time, I'm sure it isn't going to change any time soon though.
  25. Had a ring around this morning and got some bits to do next week and the week after that, beyond that?,. I'm a bit infront ATM due to having a decent run of work before Christmas so I'm not overly bothered. How's your new working year started?
