  1. It was the same when I worked for the water authority, that said I had to have an in house ticket to go to the toilet on my own.
  2. I'm with this, having a license is 'proof' of competence. We all know that isn't necessary correct but in the eyes of the law and HSE that's all that's required.
  3. Boris says he is happy with his new cabinet.
  4. Couldn't agree more about regular use, I used to tow on a daily basis years back and reversing was second nature. I very rarely tow now and have to really concentrate if I need to get a trailer into a tight space.
  5. It may be duff info, but I was lead to believe if anything dropped in you always pull it out backwards?
  6. Tesco, I still don't get it...
  7. On a serious note, hope it sorts itself soon. I would think that entitles you an extra glass of your favourite tipple this evening.
  8. Cheeky little post, you'll be the butt of all tonight's terrible one liners.
  9. Someone missed a bit, reversing will be tested by a third party. HGV driving test overhauled to tackle driver shortage WWW.COMMERCIALFLEET.ORG The Government has announced changes to the HGV driver test in order to free up capacity for 50,000 additional tests...
  10. In the early nineties I saw two Spanish kids riding them, when they finished their show they offered people ago. I reckon I got three yards before I fell off.
  11. And get an A* in A level physics.
  12. Seen it loads on production factories, bollards bent over Armco dented beyond repair. Some loading bays are poorly designed mind, where the drivers got to get the cab 90 degrees to the trailer to have any chance of getting on the bay.
  13. Madness if it's correct, first day out and you've got to get on a tight loading bay and you haven't been taught how to reverse.
  14. A job advert popped up on my Facebook page this morning £175/shift plus £25/stop out money, it's getting better.
  15. Yes the haulage industry has had time to sort it. weather they will get enough British is a different story, there was a massive shortage of staff when the European drivers were here.

    9/11

I was in and out of RAF Lakenheath at the same time, it would regularly take a couple of hours to get clearance. Even the staff on reception were carrying pistols.
  17. Have you got a new yard?
  18. Hey up Ratty, I'll send you some warm weather if you like. It's way to hot for me.
  19. Nothing wrong with being a bottom feeder, (make of that what you like). As trig said above we knew it was coming, someone's got to pay the £30 million back that Hancock gave to his neighbour, ya know, the pub landlord who got the PPE contract. It stinks, and they wonder why more people are staying under the radar.
  20. That's a classic, what happens if you own a house boat that isn't permanently moored. Do you still make your own declaration, or go with the marina/yard? Totally off topic, and not aimed at you @swinny. Another ill thought out idea?
  21. I'm not sure that's what happened, the government gave us grants, or cheap loans if we wanted them, they didn't need begging for, they were dished out hand over fist. But yes I get your drift.
  22. Yep, could you imagine if it was Labour doing it, they'd be kicked to bits.
  23. Do you see them regularly?
  24. Anyone better at maths than me, 1.25% points, what is that in real terms. Let's say someone (on the books) earns £40k, how much more would they pay in tax each year?
  25. I could also, but the other clown isn't helping.
