  1. Tom hi, currently i'm struggling to find any one hits the spot for me so to speak, but for me the most effective combo is remedial massage and manipulation, historically that has worked best for me. My issue with physiotherapy is that generally speaking they don't do alot of(if any) hands on soft tissue treatment. I'm maybe biased as sadly I have spent alot of money on failed treatments, and as I said previously after my misdiagnosis I retrained as a sports therapist which I think has given me an inside view on some of what "goes on". I'll be very happy when i'm back doing tree work TBH. Do you get regular treatment Tom?
  2. I kept my bottles in a garage with no problem, I think BOC like them to be in a "secure" compound ie garage, shed etc, so long as it is lockable. The price was very similar to those quoted by Dean and I bought all gear online, inclucing all welding rods, nozzles etc.
  3. Well done mate for checking your options and not relying on the initial diagnosis, if your chiropractor doesn't do deep tissue massage I would highly recommend it. Hang in there with the right combo of treatments you should be able to be symptom free, esp as it's mild "wear/tear":thumbup1: I'm in better shape now than 10yrs ago even tho my osteo-arthritis is much worse in my neck, all due to my chiropractor, lots of remedial massage and a balanced strength program.
  4. haha, did a trip to Truro earlier in record time, whole journey in 1/2 normal time and not a flag on a car anywhere to be seen, infact hardly a car to be seen, more footie pleeeeaaase:thumbup1:
  5. Ady no problem, we'll get something organised and see if we can't sort those bad boys out:thumbup:
  6. Sadly tho there are plenty who will take your hard earned off you with no good reason:thumbdown:
  7. Hi all, i've written on other posts about correct diagnosis, make sure it's defo right before going under the knife, I got misdiagnosed with vibration white finger 10yrs ago(Paul I also had 70% reduced function) that took me out of tree work only to discover the numbness/pins n needles was caused by nerve impingement, solved by very deep(v painful) massage and chiropractic. I retrained as a sports therapist to earn some wedge in the interim and have seen loads of bad diagnosis, i've also done my share of treating/managing frozen shoulders/carpal tunnel/rsi etc, IMO try everything else before resorting to surgery, it can cause as many probs as it resolves. Thankfully I can now use a saw again pain free:thumbup: I answer to your question Paul about lessons, I would agree totally with what others have said in previous threads, weight training/strength work is the key, tied in with good stretches, our work doesn't make you strong in a balanced way. Hope this helps somewhat, any more questions feel free to ask, i'll do my best:thumbup1:
  8. Ady u tease:001_tt2: More overpayed egomaniacs doing what they do best, showing any real lack of talent. (IMO obviously)
  9. I'm a husky convert but yes stihl in the tree, but have you seen the post from judge about a husky with fuel injection:drool: that could be very interesting.
  10. Hire an uber yacht, fill it with mates and playboy bunnies..............
  11. Definately life changing, but for the better in my experience, I've still no regrets but it is a big decision and a leap of faith, but what isn't.
  12. Hi Adam, as has been said clean, not too fussy says all the right things, I think it's very nice, your brother has a nice touch:thumbup: tommer maybe you have something on your mind for a saturday night:biggrin:
  13. That sir is a very good point:congrats:
  14. Like I said in my first post mine was over ten years ago so things have progressesd alot, I had PRK which was the precursor to LASIK. Still got 20/20:thumbup:
  15. As far as I'm aware overhanging branches can be cut back to boundary line, all arisings(including fallen fruit) remain the ownership of the tree owner, so he could legally ask for them back(most don't give a monkeys tho). On higher branches if the owner is opposed you can still cut back but mustn't enter his 'air space' so may need to be pruned by mewp. Sorry ady not sure on the situation with windblown deadwood, would think there must be some law about safety etc.
  16. Ady I could do a quick straw poll of the ladies of Truro and see if an inch poking with a tendency to fall out is something that is a concern to them:sneaky2: (sorry mate:blushing:)
  17. Good luck to you hama, let the nymphs be your guide:thumbup1:
  18. sharp as the proverbial.....so I am:laugh1:
  19. Ah ok, thanks for that mate. V nasty like I say, could've been so much worse.
  20. Very nasty. Can I ask mate, was he standing/leaning over or across the saw when it kicked back?
  21. Yeah I appreciate that, and you know I was only teasing. From a fungi fan/ley persons perspective I do like it though.
  22. Take no notice of HIM, not a creative bone in his body:001_tt2: Hama thats a fine site sir, full of promise/info, bookmarked for sure here as well:thumbup:
  23. Hi Tom, I did 4 a few years ago and was told by A&E to take max doses of paracetamol and ibruprofen to ease the pain, said not to strap them as resultant shallow breathing may cause secondary lung related issues(fluid i think), gotta tough it out I'm afraid, takes about 6/8 weeks to knit, until everything hurts, don't cough, sneeze, laugh. Sorry I couldn't give you any better news:blushing:
