  1. Here you go Plippy, this is a good place to start, lots of friction hitches and their pros/cons:thumbup1: http://www.treebuzz.com/pdf/climbing_hitches.pdf
  2. Cracking shots as usual David, looks like a great day was had by all with some decent weather thrown in as well:thumbup1: I love that in bike racing you can still get up close and personal-so to speak.
  3. Just saw the punch up, brandishing a front wheel as a club, always funny trying to fight whilst still wearing cycling shoes and cleats. Sadly John I didn't manage to get to London(gutted), I bet it was fascinating getting to see behind the scenes, very different to what gets shown on tv I bet.
  4. Mozza this is his thread related to the injury, http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/16698-wish-id-taken-health-income-protection.html?highlight=injury+protection
  5. Yes you can, I claim all supplements/treatments inc sports massage and chiropractic, my accountant has questioned it but as long as he/she is reassured they're legit claims there's no problem. But like Andy says might be a different story justifying it to the taxman if ever that fatefull day arrives.
  6. Anybody see the stage yesterday, some idiot let his dog run into the road just as the main bunch arrived causing a crash which included David Millar, thankfully nobody badly hurt, poor dog was terrified. Every year!!!!!!
  7. No need for sky mate, I think itv4 are running nightly/weekly highlights so i'm guessing you can get that thru a set top box/freeview or via the internet, I tend to watch the long coverage(saddo that I am) on eurosport when I can-blow by blow.
  8. I miss it too mate, ditto-injuries, reckon LOOK still make the best cleats/frames, I had a faint sniff of being able to get back on a road bike so bought an uber frame from LOOK was gonna be dream bike but had to sell to pay a tax bill, I still drool over all the frames/components counting the grams:001_rolleyes: Lemond/Fignon were classic days, great racers and real characters, great times:thumbup1:
  9. Yes Mick, first tour at the tender age of 36, cervelo test time are one of my fave teams:thumbup1:
  10. A podium finish would be awesome, he's got a great team behind him.
  11. haha the mind boggles:confused1:
  12. I reckon Contador has a very good chance, just checked odds on betfair and they have Contador winning, Andy Schleck 2nd and Armstrong 3rd, but i've just been watching some races on eurosport and there are some guys really coming into form, I can't wait. Who's your money on Mick?
  13. Can't wait, tdf 2010 starts tomorrow, 3 weeks and 3642 kms of gruelling, duelling competition. State of the art boys toys technology and awesome athletes. Ok so bike racing has a bad rap for drug use but for me it is still an awesome spectacle. The highlight of my sporting year, bring it on:thumbup:

    Iphone 4

I was about to download IOS4 to my 3GS until I had a chat with ady last night, should say tried to have a chat, he has a serious problem with his phone rebooting about 3-4 minutes into a call, we ended up having 5 very short coversations, absolute nightmare and all since downloading the new software. I think i'll give it a miss for now. Good luck ady trying to resolve the problem, give me a shout if there's owt I can do.
  15. People behaving like this really winds me up, sadly there are many in society who are selfish, ignorant and downright rude, it's not the first time and sadly won't be the last time that happens, even worse if you challenge them they'll come up with some blatant lie/lame excuse:mad1:
  16. Good luck Tony, tbh i'm not sure it's ever the right time but I do know when you find a true companion it'll compliment your life and enhance every aspect(too mushy:blushing:), I wouldn't be without our quirky bunch(total misfits) and love every minute with them, they still do my head in as well at times:sneaky2:
  17. Fair point nepia but I believe it's more about the recipients perception, BUT, just checked definition which described harassment as...."Unsolicited words or conduct which tend to annoy, alarm or abuse another person" I think Dean could argue thats exactly what he's suffering right now:thumbup1:
  18. Dean I don't know if you've tried accusing them of harrassment but apparently it's v effective, mate of mine got bombarded by bt, threatened to report them to the ombudsman for harrassment and never heard from them again, apparently using that word changes the legality somehow. May be worth a shot.
  19. Hi chris, apologies for the delay in answering your question, i'm looking at the tech cert(esp if it becomes level 4) as a stepping stone to the prof dip or bsc(via the foundation degree) in a few years. I did the rfs cert arb about 15 yrs ago and think i'm very overdue a new academic challenge-already anxious about the brainache:blushing:
  20. Chri hi, I believe the tech cert is a level 3 qual, same as the national diploma and whilst i'm sure they differ slightly in what they offer I would think you're better off going straight to the hnd, foundation degree or prof dip(if it's still running). It's something i'm currently looking into myself heres a link to the aa qual's page. Further guide to qualifications and careers in arboriculture Hope this helps:thumbup1:
  21. I'm interested in doing it but did the rfs cert arb about 15 years ago, I like the idea of ceu's but as it is level 2(same as cert arb I believe) i'm not sure theres enough to be gained, perhaps the tech cert is a better option(level 3) especially as I'm working up to the prof dip/bsc. That said I am still interested.
  22. Thats some loverly stone work there Tom, the contrast with the previous photos is vast even to my untrained eye.
  23. Yep, pretty much Used to live/work up that way years ago, mayhem for whole week, enjoy tho mate:thumbup1:
  24. Blimey Tom thats quite a catalogue. Thanks for those names sir very kind of you:thumbup1:, I do use a guy in newquay but he doesn't do manipulation and is only part time so can't always get diaries to mesh.
